Apprentice Technician I

Cleveland Brothers, the largest Cat® dealer in Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and western Maryland, has an immediate opportunity for an Apprentice Technician I.

Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., Inc., your local Caterpillar dealership, is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join our growing team of established and successful Service professionals.

Position Summary:

• Maintain a clean, professional personal appearance at all times, meeting all Company standards for professionalism.
• Keep the Manager continually apprised to assist in answering customer questions and problems when necessary.
• Supports the organization's mission, vision and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: honesty, integrity, and respect while delivering high quality solutions and maintaining a positive attitude and a safe work environment.
• Accepts responsibility for mistakes or problems. Maintains "ownership" of assigned tasks.

• Must be dependable. Consistently arrives at work on time when scheduled, fully ready to work.
• Maintain company and product confidentiality.
• Attend and participate in all meetings, trainings, and activities as required.
• Adhere to all Company policies and departmental procedures and rules.
• All other duties as assigned

• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.

• Clean machines.
• Service machines.
• Assist Technician with machine repairs.
• Travel to training sessions at various training locations
• 12 weeks of instructor lead training.

• Complete 200 hours of Computer based training.
• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Must be honest, reliable, and dependable, and display a positive attitude.
• Must be able to work well under occasional pressure or within work standards and deadlines.
• Must be able to work independently and/or with others in a team environment.
• Able to work standard five-day schedule.
• Meet all eligibility requirements to drive Company vehicles, including a current, valid driver's license issued by the resident State, and maintain current motor vehicle liability insurance.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications:

• Moderate physical activity including the ability to operate the steam jenny and climbing onto and around equipment
• Pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, criminal record check
• Ability to operate equipment safely from shop to shop and around property
• As an Apprentice you are required to work in an industrial environment which includes exposure to significant environmental conditions. Physical requirements include:
• Overall stamina
• Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing
• Carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, listening, and speaking
• Must have good motor coordination skills
• Coordination of eyes, hands, and feet
• Verbal intelligence, and numerical intelligence
• The workplace environmental conditions include subject to noise, heat, cold
• Injury exposures, and atmospheric exposures
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Additional applicant requirements or work experience

• Demonstrated a level of maturity and a strong work ethic.
• Excellent attendance final academic year.
• Provide a transcript for final academic year.
• Illustrate a strong mechanical ability.
• CTC / Technical School instructor reference.

Currently enrolled in a high school CTC or graduate, graduate of a technical school, military school, or relevant working experience acceptable to the company.
