Electrician

C-Care Mauritius is currently looking for an Electrician.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment within the hospital premises to support safe and uninterrupted operations.

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment throughout the hospital.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on generators, UPS systems, lighting systems, electrical panels, and emergency power systems.
Monitor electrical equipment and identify potential issues to prevent operational downtime.
Respond promptly to electrical faults, emergencies, and breakdowns to ensure continuity of hospital services.
Ensure all electrical work complies with hospital policies, safety procedures, and applicable electrical regulations.
Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, inspections, and spare parts usage.
Support installation and maintenance of electrical connections related to medical and hospital equipment.
Coordinate with contractors and suppliers during maintenance or renovation projects.
Ensure proper handling and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials.
Follow infection control, health and safety, and fire safety procedures at all times.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, generators, and power distribution systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults efficiently.
Good understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations.
Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively during emergencies.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical manuals.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Basic computer literacy for reporting and maintenance records.

Qualifications and Experience
National Trade Certificate (NTC) / Diploma / Certificate in Electrical Installation or related field.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a hospital or similar environment.
Experience with generators, UPS systems, and emergency electrical systems will be an advantage.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices.
