The selected candidate will conduct genetic research, analyze DNA and genetic data, perform laboratory testing, interpret results, and contribute to the diagnosis and understanding of inherited conditions. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain accurate records, and support research and innovation while ensuring compliance with laboratory quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
~1 min readReview, interpret, and validate genetic test results, including molecular and cytogenetic investigations.
Provide clinical interpretation of genetic variants in accordance with international guidelines.
Collaborate with clinicians, embryologists, laboratory scientists, and other healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and management.
Contribute to the development and implementation of new genetic tests and services.
Participate in quality assurance, accreditation, and continuous improvement activities.
Prepare clear and concise clinical reports for healthcare providers.
Provide scientific and technical support to laboratory staff and clinicians in MDT.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to clinical case discussions.
Liaise closely with pathologists, laboratory scientists, clinicians, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and coordinated patient care.
Stay current with advances in genomics, molecular diagnostics, and precision medicine.
Conduct genetic consultations and assess patients' personal and family medical histories.
Recommend appropriate genetic investigations based on the patient's clinical presentation and risk factors.
PhD, or Medical Degree with specialization in Genetics, Genomics, Molecular Genetics, or a related field.
Experience in clinical genetics, molecular diagnostics, reproductive genetics, or genomic medicine is preferred.
Strong knowledge of DNA sequencing technologies, variant interpretation, and genetic databases.
Familiarity with international standards and guidelines (e.g., ACMG) is an advantage.
Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
