Responsibilities:


At Commercial Contracting Corporation (CCC), the Assistant GC Superintendent is the assistant to the GC Superintendent. The Asst. Superintendents main responsibilities are to assistant with all field operations on the project. This includes but is not limited to; all safety related items and reporting, updating of the schedule, managing of onsite trades and Subcontractors, tracking, and communicating daily activities in weekly and daily meetings with Trades, reviewing and updating the drawings and specifications.  

 

Requirements:


  • Experience in the industry for 0-4+ yrs. working on industrial and commercial projects ranging from $100,000 - 30 million dollars.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 yr. and or at least 4 years’ experience in the construction industry.
  • Communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Computer skills which include Microsoft Office and MS Project at a proficient usage including ProCore.
  • Ability to review Drawings, details, specifications, RFI’s, Contract documents, Subcontract documents, Construction scope of work
  • To have a general knowledge and understanding of the General Contract, each Subcontract, the contract drawings, specifications, and addenda, and to assist the Project Manager in the development of the on-site procedures
  • To assist in providing leadership and to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships of the on-site staff and to promote a positive project morale.
  • To assist in examining the contract drawings, specifications and addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details and possible code violations, and to bring these to the attention of the Project Manager who will review them with the Architect.
  • To assist the Project Manager and the Scheduling Manager in the development and refinement of the Project Schedule, and to work with the Project Manager to keep the schedules properly updated, and to see that the job meets the various required dates. 
  • To assist in planning and reviewing the Construction Program with the Project Manager including quality control procedures, safety and security practices, field office location and layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment, and manpower.
  • To assist with verifying that each Subcontractor has completed his contractual requirements as condition precedent to beginning his work at the jobsite. This includes a Certificate of Insurance, a fully executed Subcontract, a Schedule of Values, and a Safety Program.
  • To assist with ensuring that all required permits or licenses have been obtained, and that a weatherproof bulletin board is installed on which all required safety notices are posted. To follow through and confirm all trades have the correct permits and proper permits are displayed per the City’s requirements.
  • To assist with reviewing all extra work whether through Field request, Addendum, bulletin, Change Order. To review any and all quotes, T&M tickets, and review with Subcontractors with Project Engineering and Management guidance and agreement.
  • To cooperate with, and direct, when necessary, the activities of the inspection agencies, and to effect remedial actions indicated by the reports of these agencies.
  • To assist with weekly coordination meetings and monthly safety meetings with the subcontractors and to issue typewritten minutes to the Project Manager as a result thereof.
  • To assist with receiving and reviewing the Subcontractors Daily Reports of work done and labor and material employed.
  • To assist with reviewing and approving the Subcontractor’s monthly requests for payment.
  • To maintain good relations and communications with all involved in the project including the public.
  • To assist with ensuring that subcontractors, enforce their safety programs including CCC Safety Program holding of toolbox safety meetings, orientations reviewing Pre-Task Plans Etc.
  • All employees are required to have an up-to-date CPR/AED certificate.
  • 30-hour OSHA training.
