Mercy Hospital offers a wide range of surgical services. Whether patients require minimally invasive procedures or major surgeries, this surgical team provides excellent care in a safe, family-friendly environment. By joining the General Surgery Team as an RN First Assistant, you assist in the provision of surgical nursing care and treatment to patients undergoing procedures. You will communicate with surgeons, other nurses and caregivers in the Operating Room on patient status and next steps in the procedure. You will also assist with closing wounds, placing catheters, surgical prep and scrubbing in. By taking on this opportunity, you will gain plenty of hands-on experience while working at one of the best places to receive healthcare.
Requirements
~1 min read- Requires full range of motion; manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
- Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
