Ceribell is a medical technology company focused on transforming the diagnosis and management of patients with serious neurological conditions. The Ceribell System is a novel, point-of-care electroencephalography (“EEG”) platform specifically designed to address the unmet needs of patients in the acute care setting, and is being used in hundreds of community hospitals, large academic facilities and major IDN's across the country. Our entire team is driven by a shared commitment to transforming the landscape of critical care through our rapid seizure detection technology, come join the movement!

The Vice President of Market Access will own Ceribell’s reimbursement, payer, and health policy strategy to accelerate adoption of our neuro-diagnostic solutions. As a member of the commercial leadership team, this leader is accountable for the coverage, payment, and policy outcomes that enable growth, and serves as the company’s senior authority on reimbursement and health policy.

This role builds and leads the Market Access organization, including strategy, policy, evidence, health economic tooling, and field reimbursement. The VP partners with the CEO, CFO, Chief Revenue Officer, and other executive leaders to ensure the value of Ceribell’s technology is clearly understood by payers, policymakers, and health system leaders.

  • Build, lead, and develop a team spanning HEOR, payer and policy strategy, and  health economic tools.
  • Own headcount planning, budget, and vendor and consultant strategy
  • Set functional goals, MBOs, and operating cadence
  • Own the multi-year payment and access roadmap for Ceribell’s portfolio, including POC EEG and emerging neuromonitoring technologies
  • Lead strategy for new and existing payment pathways, including MS-DRG and add-on payment mechanisms, and pursue coding and coverage pathways (e.g., CPT/HCPCS, payer medical policy) where they support adoption
  • Anticipate and mitigate payment risk, not only pursue upside
  • Identify and resolve barriers across payment, hospital workflows, and provider economics in ED, ICU, and inpatient settings
  • Cultivate senior relationships with MAC medical directors, national and regional commercial payers, Medicaid plans, IDNs, CMS staff, and health system CFOs
  • Oversee payer and health system education initiatives that highlight Ceribell’s clinical evidence, economic value, and outcomes impact
  • Represent Ceribell as a thought leader at industry, payer, and policy forums
  • Own CMS rulemaking strategy (IPPS, OPPS, PFS, NTAP, and TCET pathways), including comment letters and public testimony
  • Engage CMS, Congress, and policymakers on Breakthrough Device payment policy
  • Manage relationships with trade associations, coalitions, specialty societies (e.g., AdvaMed, neurology and critical care societies), and outside counsel and consultants
  • Set the evidence generation strategy and prioritize investment across HEOR, real-world evidence, and publications to support payer, hospital, and policy goals
  • Co-own the evidence plan with the CMO and Medical Affairs
  • Oversee budget impact models and cost-effectiveness analyses that clearly articulate Ceribell’s clinical and financial impact
  • Own the strategy, development, and governance of health economic tools, including economic impact calculators, budget impact models, and program cost comparisons for payers, hospitals, and health systems
  • Ensure tools are built on validated, defensible assumptions and are tailored to different hospital types and care settings
  • Equip sales leadership and field teams with these tools, along with the training and guidance to use them effectively with hospital C-suite and finance buyers
  • Keep tools current as payment policy and evidence evolve
    • Set the standard for how economic and reimbursement value is communicated to payers and health system leaders
    • Support strategic IDN and health system engagements where access and economics intersect
    • Quantify and report the impact of access wins and risks to the executive team and Board
    • Other responsibilities as assigned by your Manager/Supervisor

  • Bachelor’s degree in health policy, business, science, public health, or a related field; MBA, MPH, MHA, or JD preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in the medical device, diagnostics, or digital health industry, with 8+ years directly in market access, reimbursement, HEOR, or health policy
  • 5+ years leading and developing teams, including managers or directors, ideally including a field-based reimbursement or customer reimbursement support team
  • Led a successful payment pathway end to end (e.g., NTAP, MS-DRG assignment, new CPT code, or national coverage), ideally for a novel or Breakthrough-designated technology
  • Deep expertise in U.S. reimbursement, particularly inpatient: DRG payment, CMS policy and rule making, NTAP/TCET, commercial payer processes, and medical policy development; working knowledge of CPT/HCPCS
  • Experience building or overseeing health economic models and tools used by commercial teams
  • Experience building compliant field reimbursement programs and partnering closely with sales leadership
  • Experience advising C-suite and Board and representing the company externally with CMS and policymakers
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex clinical and economic evidence into persuasive payer and executive messaging
  • Experience in high-growth or public-company environments preferred
