Head of Legal

As Head of Legal at CFGI, you will oversee a broad range of legal matters across the company, including commercial contracts, governance, regulatory compliance, and ad hoc affairs. Partnering closely with business leaders, delivery teams, and external counsel when required, you will protect CFGI’s legal interests as the company continues to expand across the UK and internationally. 

• →Draft, review, and negotiate key agreements with clients and vendors including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, vendor contracts, and other commercial contracts
• →Create, maintain, and continuously improve contract templates, playbooks, and internal frameworks while ensuring alignment with applicable local laws.
• →Oversee contract management and approval processes, including matters requiring support from external legal counsel.
• →Support the development of policies and procedures that support corporate integrity, compliance, and effective risk management.
• → Identify legal risks and develop practical strategies to mitigate exposure and protect CFGI’s interests.
• →Monitor regulatory requirements affecting CFGI, including data privacy, employment, competition, and other applicable laws and regulations.
• →Manage ad hoc litigation and dispute-resolution matters, coordinating with external counsel on legal proceedings, settlements, and negotiations as required. 

• Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales
• 10+ years post-qualified experience with significant exposure to complex commercial agreements

• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements with clients, vendors, partners, employees, and other counterparties.
• Experience developing and maintaining contract templates and legal processes across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience managing ad hoc matters such as employment, litigation, disputes, settlements, investigations, or other contentious legal matters, including coordination with external counsel.
• Experience developing legal risk-management strategies and compliance policies
• Experience managing relationships with external legal counsel and coordinating complex legal matters across internal and external stakeholders.

• Experience supporting a professional services, consulting, financial services, or similarly complex organisation.

• Clear, credible communicator who can advise senior stakeholders and explain complex legal matters in a practical way.
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving approach, with sound judgement when managing complex or competing legal issues.
• Collaborative and comfortable working with senior leadership, internal stakeholders, and external legal counsel.
• Pragmatic and commercially minded, with a focus on identifying practical solutions while managing legal risk.
• Ethical, dependable, and comfortable operating with a high degree of ownership and confidentiality.
