Challenger Geomatics is looking to hire Junior Survey Technologists to join our Edmonton and Calgary teams working on a hybrid remote/office schedule for several multi-year projects with steady winter hours!! The Survey Technologist is responsible for processing field data & interpreting various engineering plan; as well as quality control and review of data pertaining to the various published products of the Geomatics department as directed by the Project Manager.

The successful candidate will utilize various software tools, such as Leica Infinity, Civil 3D, and Excel to analyze field data effectively. This individual will collaborate closely with the project manager and engage with clients as necessary to ensure successful project execution. This is a great opportunity for a recent Geomatics program graduate!

Responsibilities

  • →Receiving, processing, and quality control on data from field returns.
  • →Inputs field data into Civil 3d & Excel Databases.
  • →Knowledgeable at interpreting various engineering disciplines to accurately calculate construction layouts, including piles, anchor bolts, foundations & roads.
  • →Create & analyze 3D surfaces and computations for volumes.
  • →Identifies and informs the project manager as to deficiencies with field procedures or field returns.
  • →Monitors technical and field procedures, ensuring adherence to professional practices and company procedures.
  • →Publishes plans and documents for registration, processing or filing with Government or regulatory agencies.
  • →Keeps abreast of technical, professional or regulatory developments affecting technical design or processing procedures.
  • →Identifies and recommends process or technical improvements.

Requirements

  • Recent Geomatics Diploma or Degree or related experience in the geomatics industry using Civil 3D
  • Working knowledge of Civil 3D and MicroSurvey
  • Previous experience with legal survey practices, including Crown Disposition Surveys, Right of Ways, Oil & Gas, an asset.
