The Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking an Outreach Where you Live (OWL) Unsheltered Outreach Caseworker to join our new Unsheltered Outreach program in Waterbury, CT & Litchfield, CT county areas.

The OWL Unsheltered Outreach Caseworker oversees a variety of cases through different venues on a daily basis in the Waterbury, CT & Litchfield, CT county areas and is able to provide the unsheltered seeking assistance the necessary tools to accomplish their goals. They will maintain a schedule including but not limited to hours of actual street outreach, use of equipment and supplies as well as a schedule of external support providers that may able to further the individuals’ attempts to end their homelessness. Also will work within the program’s model as well as protocols established by the Western CT Mental Health Network and the Coordinated Access Network with whom we jointly run the outreach services establishing open communication, support and accountability among collaborating agencies.

High school diploma or GED required
Two years in a human service organization preferred
Two years’ experience working with adults with severe and prolonged mental illness, addiction/recovery or unsheltered populations
Individuals with lived experience encouraged to apply
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution preferred
Registered & insured vehicle available for work purposes
Approved criminal background and driving check

SCHEDULE:

Days on: Tuesday 2:00pm-10:00pm, Wednesday 11:00am-7:00pm, Thursday 2:00pm-10:00pm, Friday 2:00pm-10:00pm, Saturday 2:00pm-10:00pm. Days off: Sunday, Monday.
