How does BORN Ontario influence care? By being the authoritative source for maternal-child health care data in the province. High-quality data is an indispensable asset in today's health care economy. BORN Ontario works behind the scenes equipping health care providers and organizations with the data they need to provide quality care for families. Insights developed by BORN Ontario help administrators make more informed health care policy decisions.
This role focuses on translating and applying registry data into actionable knowledge for healthcare providers, administrators, policymakers, researchers, and individuals and families. The knowledge broker acts as a bridge between evidence and implementation, promoting data-driven decision-making in maternal and child health services.
The knowledge broker will have content expertise in the maternal-newborn and child sectors in at least two of the following three areas: 1) implementation science, 2) dissemination, or 3) evaluation/outcomes measurement. The knowledge broker will apply their expertise to facilitate the active use of current evidence and to broker strong supportive relationships among BORN’s diverse partners across Ontario.
