Job Summary: 

The Fabricator is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding metal components used in the production and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. This role is essential in ensuring the seamless operation of our brick production processes by maintaining and repairing machinery, structures, and support systems. The Fabricator must work efficiently as part of a team and follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment. 

Work Schedule: 

  • Full-time position, 7:30AM to 5:00PM. 
  • May require overtime, weekends, or holiday work based on production needs. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding ongoing fabrication and maintenance projects. 
  • Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components based on technical drawings and specifications. 
  • Operate various tools and equipment, including welders, grinders, saws, and cutting torches. 
  • Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment and structural components. 
  • Measure, cut, and weld materials to required specifications. 
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to support operational efficiency. 
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure fabricated components meet industry and company standards. 
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. 
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, work performed, and equipment maintenance. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Meets with CEO and President to discuss improvements and developments of production equipment and property at company locations. 
  • Assigns and discusses fabrication work projects with the fabrication project manager. 
  • Assigns and discusses maintenance work projects with the maintenance superintendent. 
  • Oversees the work product while minimizing overtime and call-in hours. 
  • Coaches, counsels, and manages performance of direct reports. 
  • Develops and maintains a preventative maintenance schedule program for applicable equipment and machinery. 
  • Arranges for and manages appropriate third-party contractor support as needed. 
  • Obtains quotes as needed for material, equipment, and supplies. 
  • Enforces sound safety and housekeeping practices. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twisting, climbing, and move around for extended periods. 
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 to 100 lbs. 
  • Comfortable working in high-temperature environments. 
  • Dexterity to handle tools and equipment adjustments. 

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school training preferred. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a related field. 
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. 
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques. 
  • Ability to operate metalworking machinery, including shears, presses, and saws. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and OSHA regulations. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment. 
  • Certifications in welding or metal fabrication. 
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
