The Chrysos commitment and mission:

Here at Chrysos we combine science and software to create technology solutions that are changing the global mining industry; both from a productivity and environmental impact perspective.

Just like atoms and machines, we believe that everyone is different and how individuals come together is what makes us successful. Headquartered in Adelaide and with team members based in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa, Canada, Chile and North America, Chrysos Corporation’s diverse team of scientists, engineers and industry specialists are coming together to build technologies to provide rapid, accurate and safe ore analysis for the global mining industry.

The company’s flagship technology, PhotonAssay™, steps around centuries-old chemistry-based assay methods to deliver true ‘atom-counting’ analysis for the measurement of gold and other high-value metals. With successful global installations, Chrysos is taking PhotonAssay™ to customers around the world – Chrysos could take you to places that you might not have even imagined yet. There’s opportunity around every corner and the support to help you achieve your goals.

About the role:

Sitting within the Technical Solutions team, the Graduate Process Engineer will contribute to both short-term operational projects and longer-term value-driven work, while building capability within a high-performing team that spans technical, commercial, and strategic functions.

Hands-on exposure across the full PhotonAssay™ value chain - from site-based metallurgical work through to feasibility study support and stakeholder engagement.

What you will do:

This role will be a core part of the team delivering a pilot program — involved in the design, execution, and analysis of each stage. The initial pilot will be conducted at a gold mine located in Queensland.

This role will be working alongside the site metallurgy team to characterise grade variability, model optimisation opportunities, and test whether faster assay feedback translates into measurably better plant performance.

Following the site program, the role will be involved in the analysis and interpretation of collected data — developing business case and value models to quantify the performance and commercial benefit of PhotonAssay™ for the operation.

Working alongside the Technical Solutions team, you will assist with ongoing feasibility studies — including data handling, QAQC, and report preparation.

Who you are:

Essential

  • University degree in metallurgy, minerals processing, geology, geosciences, chemical engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to different audiences
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail — comfortable working with data, drawing conclusions, and communicating findings
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with an ability to work effectively as part of cross-functional teams and build positive working relationships
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative — able to manage your own workload and follow tasks through to completion
  • Willing and able to travel to mine sites within Australasia, including periods of site-based work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • English fluency

Desirable

  • Familiarity with analytical techniques used in the minerals industry, such as fire assay, XRF, AAS, or ICP — gained through study or practical experience
  • Some exposure to QAQC protocols, sampling theory, or statistical interpretation of assay data
  • Experience with data analysis tools or programming languages, particularly Python — candidates with this background may have the opportunity to contribute to database development work
  • Any prior exposure to mine site or processing plant environments — vacation work, internships, or university placements

Who we are (Our values):

  • Safety is a Non-Negotiable - Safety isn’t just a value — it’s our way of life. It’s about creating a culture where physical and psychological safety are top priorities. We speak up, challenge assumptions, and hold ourselves accountable to protect one another.
