ClarityPay is looking for a Corporate Counsel. This is a foundational hire for the legal and compliance team of a rapidly growing fintech, and it comes with built-in opportunity for professional growth and development.
The initial focus of this role will be commercial contracting, and responsibilities will quickly expand to include broader product, compliance, and operational support matters. This could be an ideal opportunity for a rock-solid transactional attorney with a desire to become an in-house generalist. It could also be a great match for a fintech generalist that wants to develop subject matter expertise on the transactional and operational aspects of a consumer lending program.
Responsibilities

Take a lead role in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with merchants and vendors.

Support business development, customer service, and other internal stakeholders in fielding legal and compliance questions.

Serve as an in-house subject matter expert on the development and implementation of AI tools to legal workflows.

Support ClarityPay’s growth and development efforts with accurate and pragmatic regulatory advice and in-depth legal risk assessments relevant to the company’s development of new financial products.

Develop additional legal and compliance resources for contracting and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate on the resolution of inquiries and complaints from customers and regulators.

Collaborate on the development and improvement of internal policies, procedures, and processes.

Project-manage various key legal and compliance projects.

Support or own other legal projects as determined by the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer.
Requirements

· 3+ years total legal experience.
· At least 2 years of law firm experience.
· Significant contract drafting and negotiation experience.
· In-depth familiarity with consumer financial services matters generally.
· Strong legal research skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to learn and leverage new technology quickly and effectively.

Nice to Have
