Clear Mind, PLLC is seeking a licensed therapist to provide mental health services on an independent contractor (1099) basis. The contractor will carry a caseload of 10–15 active cases serving children, adolescents, and young adults, including youth in foster care, and will use independent professional judgment in delivering services consistent with Clear Mind’s clinical and documentation standards.
- Deliver virtual, in-office, or in-home therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults in foster care.
- Carry a caseload of 10–15 active cases; acceptance of new referrals is based on the contractor’s availability.
- Conduct clinical assessments to establish diagnostic eligibility and identify treatment needs for accepted referrals.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat clients with behavioral and emotional disturbances using DSM-5-TR/ICD-10 criteria.
- Develop client-centered service plans that align with each individual’s specific needs and goals.
- Monitor client progress and evaluate intervention effectiveness, including for clients with serious mental illness or serious emotional disturbance.
- Coordinate care with the treatment team, caseworkers, and family system to support each client’s service plan goals.
- Complete and submit documentation of all services provided (assessments, service plans, progress notes, and billing information) within the timelines required by Clear Mind and applicable payers.
- Respond to and document crisis situations involving clients on the contractor’s caseload in accordance with Clear Mind’s crisis protocols.
- Participate in case consultations and quality reviews with the Clinical Director, Medical Director, and Nurse Practitioner as reasonably needed to coordinate client care.
- Comply with Texas licensing board rules, HIPAA, payer and Medicaid requirements, and the terms of the Independent Contractor Agreement.
- This is an independent contractor engagement, not employment. The contractor is not eligible for employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, retirement plans, workers’ compensation, or unemployment insurance.
- Schedule and methods. The contractor sets their own schedule and determines the methods and techniques used to deliver services, consistent with professional standards and payer requirements.
- Compensation and taxes. Compensation is paid per completed, billable session at the rate stated in the Independent Contractor Agreement. The contractor is responsible for all federal, state, and self-employment taxes and will receive Form 1099-NEC.
- The contractor provides their own equipment, including a HIPAA-compliant device and secure internet connection for telehealth, and reliable transportation for in-home sessions.
- The contractor maintains their own professional liability (malpractice) insurance at the limits stated in the Agreement and provides a current certificate of insurance.
- Non-exclusive. The contractor is free to provide services to other practices, agencies, or private clients, provided there is no conflict with obligations to Clear Mind clients.
Requirements
~1 min read- Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA): active, unrestricted LPC, LCSW, or LMFT license in the state of Texas.
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a closely related field.
- Current CANS and ANSA certifications, maintained throughout the engagement.
- Active individual National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Individually credentialed and enrolled as a rendering provider with Texas Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance payers, with enrollment maintained in good standing throughout the engagement.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Experience in play therapy and working knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in the foster care system.
- Experience providing services to individuals with serious mental illness and serious emotional disturbance.
- Experience working with diverse populations across a range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Services are delivered in virtual, office, home, and community settings. The work involves extended periods of sitting and keyboarding for documentation, along with occasional local travel for in-home sessions.
