About the Clinic for Special Children: Established in 1989, The Clinic for Special Children is an independent, mission-driven outpatient clinic providing cutting-edge research and compassionate care for children and adults with rare, genetic disorders. The majority of patients are uninsured, live in agrarian settings, and are of Old Order Amish or Mennonite (Plain) ancestry. 

Position Summary: As a member of the clinical team, the Registered Metabolic Dietitian assists in providing medical services and direct patient care through culturally appropriate, individualized nutrition assessments, counseling, and support to patients and families. This position works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, genetic counselors, research staff, and laboratory staff to address patient nutrition-related needs.

Minimum Requirements to apply:

• Master’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or related field.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentials.
• Active Pennsylvania dietitian-nutritionist licensure (LDN).
• Experience working with medially complex patients, rare genetic diseases, ketogenic diet for epilepsy, and inherited metabolic disorders.
