POSITION SUMMARY
The Missions and Outreach Pastor will provide leadership and vision for Eagle Church’s global, regional, and local missions and outreach ministries. This pastor will develop strategies to mobilize the congregation to participate in God’s mission through prayer, giving, serving, evangelism, and meaningful partnerships.
The Missions and Outreach Pastor will cultivate relationships with Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) International Workers (IWs), global and local ministry partners, and community organizations while equipping and mobilizing Eagle Church to reach our immediate neighborhood and surrounding communities with the Gospel.
This is a full time, salaried position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
- Lead the Missions Team in developing, implementing and evaluating Eagle Church’s overall missions’ strategy and policies.
- Develop and lead a Local Outreach Team that would explore and implement ministry initiatives in our surrounding community.
- Recruit, equip, and develop volunteers and lay leaders to participate in and lead missions and outreach ministries.
- Work collaboratively with other staff and ministry leaders to integrate missions, outreach, and evangelism throughout the church.
- Oversee the mission’s budget and ensure responsible stewardship of missions and outreach resources.
- Develop effective communication strategies that regularly tell the story of what God is doing through Eagle Church’s missions and outreach partnerships.
- Evaluate ministry partnerships and initiatives regularly, identifying opportunities for greater engagement and Kingdom impact.
- Will participate in Staff meetings and planning.
Missions
- Cultivate and maintain meaningful relationships with C&MA IWs, Alliance ministries, other global partners, and local missions organizations through regular communication, prayer, encouragement, and engagement.
- Develop opportunities for Eagle Church members to engage in missions through prayer, giving, serving, short-term trips, and ongoing relationships with mission’s partners.
- Oversee adult short-term missions’ trips and work collaboratively with Eagle Students on student missions opportunities.
- Equip and prepare individuals and teams for effective cross-cultural ministry and provide meaningful follow-up after trips.
- Plan and oversee the annual Missions Fest and other opportunities to connect the congregation with IWs and missions partners.
- Identify and develop strategic missions partnerships that align with Eagle Church’s mission, values, and ministry priorities.
Outreach
- Develop and implement a strategic local outreach plan focused on Eagle Church’s immediate neighborhood and surrounding communities.
- Build relationships with local schools, organizations, community leaders, nonprofits, and ministry partners to identify meaningful opportunities for Gospel-centered engagement.
- Oversee and develop local outreach initiatives such as block parties, Upward Sports, service projects, community events, and other strategic outreach opportunities.
- Work with the Discipleship Director to equip the congregation in personal evangelism, relational outreach, and sharing the Gospel.
- Help create a culture in which every believer understands their role in participating in God’s mission through their relationships, workplaces, neighborhoods, schools, and community.
- Develop sustainable outreach strategies that move beyond individual events toward ongoing relationships and opportunities to share the Gospel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a life consistent with a biblical worldview.
- Full agreement with C&MA Statement of Faith and Global Mission Objectives.
- Understanding of biblical and missional theology and a passion for the Great Commission.
- 5+ years of ministry, missions, or related leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrates an ability to build healthy relationships and work collaboratively with International Workers, ministry organizations, community partners and church leaders.
- Demonstrates an ability to recruit, organize, and lead short-term missions trips
- Demonstrates an ability to recruit, equip, and mobilize volunteers.
- C&MA background such as church attendance, college, or mission field preferred.
- Ordination with the C&MA or a willingness to pursue licensing and ordination.
ACCOUNTABILITY
- The Missions and Outreach Pastor/Director will receive direct supervision from the Associate Pastor.
- The Missions and Outreach Pastor/Director will be indirectly accountable to the Lead Pastor and Elder Board.
