We are seeking an experienced Cathodic Protection System Expert to support a comprehensive technical audit of pipeline infrastructure within the Oil & Gas sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the design, installation, operation, testing, and performance of Cathodic Protection (CP) systems to ensure pipeline integrity, corrosion prevention, regulatory compliance, and long-term asset reliability. The role requires extensive experience in corrosion control, pipeline integrity management, and industry best practices.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Conduct technical audits of Cathodic Protection (CP) systems installed on oil and gas pipeline infrastructure.
- →Evaluate the design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of impressed current and sacrificial anode cathodic protection systems.
- →Review pipeline corrosion control strategies and assess overall pipeline integrity management practices.
- →Verify CP system performance through field measurements, testing records, and system monitoring reports.
- →Assess transformer rectifiers, anode beds, test stations, bonding systems, insulated joints, and monitoring equipment.
- →Review close interval survey (CIS), Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG), Pearson Survey, and other corrosion assessment reports.
- →Evaluate coating conditions and identify areas susceptible to external corrosion or coating failure.
- →Ensure compliance with applicable standards including NACE, ISO, API, ASME, and relevant industry regulations.
- →Identify deficiencies, integrity risks, and recommend corrective actions to improve corrosion protection systems.
- →Review engineering drawings, CP design calculations, commissioning reports, maintenance records, and inspection documentation.
- →Coordinate with Pipeline, Mechanical, Electrical, SCADA, Integrity, and HSE audit teams during field assessments.
- →Prepare comprehensive technical audit reports, findings, recommendations, and final documentation.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s Degree in Corrosion Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Cathodic Protection systems within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Demonstrated experience with pipeline integrity management, corrosion engineering, and technical audits.
- Experience working on onshore or offshore pipeline projects, terminals, or oil and gas facilities.
- NACE Cathodic Protection Certification (CP Level) or equivalent corrosion certification is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of impressed current and sacrificial anode cathodic protection systems.
- Experience performing CP surveys including CIS, DCVG, Pearson Survey, coating assessment, and pipeline integrity evaluations.
- Familiarity with NACE, ISO, API, ASME, and other applicable corrosion control standards.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, CP layouts, inspection reports, and integrity documentation.
- Strong analytical, reporting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commitment to safety, engineering excellence, and regulatory compliance.
