CNS Group is seeking an experienced and results-driven Duty Manager for a luxury hotel in Zanzibar. The role is responsible for overseeing hotel operations during assigned shifts, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, resolving operational issues, and supporting smooth coordination across all hotel departments. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership abilities, operational management skills, and experience within a professional hospitality environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Oversee overall hotel operations during assigned shifts to ensure smooth coordination across all operational departments.
- →Monitor guest service standards, operational efficiency, and hospitality presentation throughout the property.
- →Handle guest complaints, emergencies, service recovery situations, and operational challenges professionally and efficiently.
- →Coordinate closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Security, and other departments to maintain seamless operations.
- →Conduct operational walkthroughs and inspections to ensure compliance with hotel cleanliness, safety, and service standards.
- →Monitor occupancy levels, room statuses, VIP arrivals, group movements, and special operational activities during shifts.
- →Lead shift briefings, communicate operational priorities, and ensure proper shift handover procedures are completed.
- →Support supervision of hotel staff, monitor performance, and provide operational guidance to departmental teams when required.
- →Ensure all incidents, guest complaints, accidents, and operational issues are documented and reported accurately.
- →Monitor safety, security, emergency response, and hotel compliance procedures throughout operations.
- →Support conflict resolution, decision-making, and problem-solving during high-pressure operational situations.
- →Prepare operational reports, incident summaries, and management updates at the end of each assigned shift.
Requirements
~1 min read- Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel operations or hospitality management.
- Previous supervisory or managerial experience within hospitality operations is preferred.
- Experience in luxury hotel operations is an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent guest service and customer relationship management abilities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in English communication is required.
- Candidates from the National College of Tourism (NCT) and other hospitality colleges or institutes are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates who are proficient in more than one language (multilingual) will have an added advantage.
