CCNS Group is seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented Filter Mechanic for a leading energy and petroleum distribution company in Dar es Salaam. The role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and servicing of filtration systems and equipment across fuel storage, distribution, and dispensing facilities in compliance with operational and safety standards. The ideal candidate should possess a solid foundation in filter mechanics or electrical systems, strong technical problem-solving abilities, and a disciplined approach to maintaining equipment performance within a dynamic energy and petroleum environment.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Perform routine inspection, servicing, and maintenance of filtration systems and equipment across fuel storage terminals and dispensing facilities to ensure continuous and reliable operational performance.
- →Install, replace, and commission fuel filters, separator filters, and related filtration components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company operational standards.
- →Conduct diagnostic assessments on filtration and electrical systems to identify mechanical faults, performance deviations, and potential failure risks, reporting findings to the technical supervisor promptly.
- →Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on filtration systems, ensuring all work is completed accurately and safely within required timeframes to minimise operational downtime.
- →Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, equipment inspection reports, and filter replacement schedules to ensure full traceability of all technical activities performed.
- →Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to fuel handling and filtration system maintenance within petroleum facility operations.
- →Identify and report any signs of fuel contamination, filter blockages, pressure irregularities, or system inefficiencies observed during routine inspections to the relevant technical team immediately.
- →Coordinate effectively with electrical, mechanical, and operations personnel to ensure integrated maintenance planning and uninterrupted facility operations.
- →Apply synergistic approaches to maintenance operations, identifying opportunities to improve filtration system efficiency and reduce operational costs across assigned facilities.
- →Participate in technical training sessions and safety briefings to continuously improve technical competencies and remain current with filtration system technologies.
Requirements
~1 min read- Diploma or Certificate in Filter Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Grade 12 academic qualification or equivalent is preferred.
- Less than one year of experience in a filter mechanics or related technical maintenance role is acceptable.
- Basic understanding of filtration systems, fuel handling equipment, and mechanical or electrical maintenance procedures is preferred.
- Strong awareness of health, safety, and risk management principles applicable to petroleum and energy environments is recommended.
- Demonstrated integrity, rigour, and respect for governance and compliance principles is recommended.
- Ability to identify operational risks and contribute to efficiency and performance improvements is recommended.
- Experience working within a fuel distribution, petroleum storage, or energy sector environment is an added advantage.
