The Irrigation Engineer will support the planning, installation, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of irrigation systems across the agricultural estate. The role will help ensure reliable water distribution, efficient irrigation performance, and effective utilization of irrigation infrastructure for crop production.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Support installation, operation, and maintenance of irrigation systems and associated infrastructure.
- →Monitor irrigation schedules, water distribution, pressure, flow, and overall system performance.
- →Inspect pipelines, pumps, valves, sprinklers, pivots, and other irrigation components for operational problems.
- →Assist in identifying irrigation faults, leakages, pressure losses, and inefficient water distribution.
- →Coordinate with irrigation technicians and field teams during system operation and maintenance.
- →Maintain technical and operational records relating to irrigation performance and water utilization.
- →Support preventive maintenance and timely repair of irrigation infrastructure.
- →Assist the Senior Irrigation Engineer with technical planning, reporting, materials requirements, and improvement of irrigation efficiency.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in irrigation installation, operation, maintenance, or agricultural water-management systems.
- Good understanding of sprinkler, center-pivot, pipeline, pumping, and water-distribution systems.
- Basic knowledge of irrigation hydraulics, pumps, valves, pressure, flow, and water requirements.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot common irrigation-system problems.
- Good technical reporting, planning, and record-keeping skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and field-coordination abilities.
- Experience with large-scale commercial agricultural irrigation systems will be an added advantage.
