As an exclusive Financial Advisor of Co-operators you are an entrepreneurial-minded leader. You are a high achieving business builder who will manage your own insurance agency with the full support of an established company. As an independent contracted Financial Advisor of Co-operators, you will build strong, visible ties to the community and will cultivate long-term relationships with your clients. Through use of our exclusive technology, tools and processes, you will help Canadians assess, define and implement solutions to meet their financial security needs.

 

  • Selling Co-operators’ financial services and insurance products from a Co- operators agency location embedded in a local Canadian community.
  • Reviewing, prospecting and networking to provide holistic advice on risk management and financial goals for clients and prospects to empower them to
    make informed decisions.
  • Cultivating strong community relationships to enhance the future agency's visibility and maximize new business opportunities to contribute to sales and
    growth goals.
  • Developing and executing business, operational and marketing plans and supporting sustainability strategies to help Canadian communities become more
    resilient.
  • During the later part of the trainee program, focusing on recruiting and selecting talent, coaching for accountability and mentoring potential future employees of
    the agency, and managing your team’s performance to facilitate their development and achieve the future agency's goals.
  • Maintenance of required license’s, demonstrating ethical behaviour and conforming with Co-operators policies, industry standards and applicable laws.

 

  • You have minimum of 3 years of management experience in the insurance industry or related business experience.
  • You have post-secondary education in a related field.
  • You hold or will obtain, prior to starting, all of the following: Life license, General
  • Insurance license and a Mutual Funds license in your province of residency.
  • Please note that holding all necessary valid license(s) is a requirement of this role.
  • You have completed or are actively working toward one of the following professional designations: CFP, CLU, CHFC or accredited Financial Planning Designation.
  • You meet all conditions of employment as may be stipulated in the Offer of
  • Employment, including successful completion of all required background checks and authorization to work in Canada.

 

  • You will remain focused and driven in the pursuit of agency goals until the objective is achieved while effectively managing/growing the current portfolio.
  • You will successfully build plans focused on expanding market penetration and apply an innovative mindset to improve operational efficiencies, with a client centric lens.
  • You have demonstrated strong communication skills to facilitate holistic communications with a diverse clientele base and are able to provide needs-based recommendations.
  • You demonstrate resilience and support a high-performance/collaborative culture, and foster team alignment with organizational strategies
  • You use critical thinking to guide decision making and apply a strategic mindset to adjust business plans based on shifting priorities.
  • You will gain a deep knowledge of Co-operators' products and will have demonstrated the ability to distribute these products in compliance with Co-operators' policies, industry standards and applicable laws
