JOB TITLE: Medication Assisted Treatment Case Manager

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 5:30 am - 2:00 pm, Full Time,40hrs/week

LOCATION: Wilmington, NC


REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/ EXPERIENTAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have high school diploma, equivalent, or higher combined with knowledge of wellness and recovery based concepts

  • Registration with NCSAPPB as CSAC-I, LCAS

  • One year or more of experience working with substance use disorder patients preferred

  • One year or more of experience working within medication assisted treatment programs preferred


POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

Provides individual and group counseling services to patients enrolled in the Opioid Treatment Program, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Assisting in coordination to clinical care and medical team, maintaining ethical documentation of patient interaction, providing support to patients, reviewing treatment plans, and maintaining program adherence. Early morning hours are required.

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on relapse prevention, coping skills, and recovery support

  • Monitor patient progress and document all clinical activities in accordance with regulatory and agency standards

  • Coordinates care to clinical and medical team by reviewing with patients, scheduling needed appointments, monitoring urine drug screen results, reducing barriers to participation through referral and linkage to community supports

  • Coordinate care with medical staff, case managers, and community resources

  • Complete required documentation including progress notes, treatment plan reviews, and discharge summaries in a timely manner

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations

  • Educate patients and families on opioid use disorder, medication-assisted treatment, and available community resources

  • Maintain compliance with SAMHSA, DEA, and state regulatory requirements governing OTP programs

  • Adhere to all HIPAA and confidentiality standards (42 CFR Part 2)

  • Participate in regular clinical supervision as required by CADC-I scope of practice

  • Maintains ethical and professional standards, acting in accordance with scope of practice as related to certifications and under direction of supervisor

  • Subject to inside environmental conditions and exposed to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gasses or poor ventilation and subject to work in close quarters. Employees may be exposed to human body fluids and are covered by the OSHA rules and regulations on blood borne pathogens

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Considerable knowledge of the practical application of different therapeutic approaches, group dynamics, crisis intervention.

  • Considerable knowledge of community resources.

  • Knowledge of the psycho-social, socioeconomic and behavioral problems and their treatment.

  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies which govern the program.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes and psycho-pharmacy.

  • Skill in establishing rapport with a client and/or family and applying techniques of assessing psycho-social, behavioral, and psychological aspects of the client.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and members of civic, medical, social, and religious organizations.

  • Ability to formulate treatment goals and to record concisely required documentation.

  • Knowledge of various methods of psychological evaluation, including, but not limited to, conducting semi-structured diagnostic clinical interviews.

  • Ability to communicate effective in oral and written forms.

  • Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping, reaching, and walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions.

  • Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly or frequently to move objects.

  • Must possess the visual acuity to perform extensive reading.
