As a Assistant Chemist, you will support laboratory and quality operations by overseeing microbiology and compliance programs, analyze test data, maintain lab systems and equipment, and ensure products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.


  • Support the plant Microbiology Program in alignment with KORE requirements.
  • Direct and oversee the plant Environmental Monitoring Program to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Manage facility CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems and perform validation to maintain operational integrity.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Drive continuous improvement (OE) initiatives within lab operations to enhance quality and service while optimizing costs.
  • Analyze and interpret data from routine testing to verify that materials meet required specifications.
  • Apply standardized methodologies to record and interpret results, escalating any concerns through peer review as necessary.
  • Support overall laboratory operations by performing a variety of tasks as required.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and calibration activities.
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to analysts/scientists to build technical capability.
  • Ensure personal and team compliance with QMS requirements through ongoing training, documentation, quality record management, and participation in audits.
  • Conduct data audits to validate the accuracy of analytical processes and results; activities may include database queries, statistical process control, and correlation studies.

 

Requirements

  • H.S, General Education or Related Technical/Trade Training
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or related beverage plant experience in a QA function Preferred
  • Must possess 1-3 years of experience in a quality Laboratory function of a food related/pharma business 
  • Knowledge of basic organic chemistry is a plus  
  • Must have strong communication and planning skills, as well as knowledge of good laboratory practices (GLP), hygiene and food safety requirements 
  • Must be able to perform basic testing of materials at a high level of throughput using the required chemical, microbiological, physical, analytical and/or sensorial methodology as required on ingredients, intermediates and finished products and report results 
  • An understanding of theory and application of instrumental analysis to analyze ingredients, syrups, beverages, concentrates or other substances is needed  
  • Must possess the ability to use all common software applications to support functions, including creating spreadsheets, quality documents, LIMS; familiarity with accessing and loading information from databases (SAP, document management systems, SharePoint sites) also needed 
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language.

Pay Range: 72,999 - 73,819 USD
