General Foreman | Barrett Paving Materials | Lewisburg, OH

The General Foreman oversees daily plant operations to achieve safety, production, quality, and cost objectives. This role monitors the plant and contractor’s performance, coordinates maintenance activities, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, and supports the efficient operation of the location.

• →Visually and audibly monitor all plant processing equipment before, during and after operations. 
• →Assist in the repair of the plant.
• →Complete all necessary paperwork daily
• →Physically check operations on a regular basis.  This involves traversing conveyors and different plant levels using ladders and catwalks.
• →Carry out plant objectives set forth by the Plant Superintendent.
• →Responsible for the plant, employees and on-site Contractors.
• →Perform minor routine lubrication of equipment daily – requires the lifting of grease lubrication containers (approximately 15 lbs.).
• →Track the plants service schedules
• →Order all necessary parts for the location
• →Fill-in for any absent plant employee
• →Keep the yard watered

• High School Graduate or GED
• Must hold a Mine Foreman’s Certificate (state of Ohio) or be able to pass the necessary written exam.
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• 1-2 years Non-Metal Mining Experience
• Knowledge of welding, cutting, and fabrication
• Mechanical Aptitude
• Acceptable Driving Record

• Ability to lift 50 pounds from the ground to the waist
• Ability to sit or stand for hours at a time
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
• Ability to work in high and sometimes confined spaces
