Loader Operator

Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is hiring a seasonal loader operator for our operations.

This is a unionized position based in Prince Rupert, BC.

• →Load material from stockpiles to appropriate piles and trucks.
• →Operate a wash plant for safe and quality minded operation.
• →Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
• →Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
• →Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate, and refill the equipment as necessary
• →Keep facilities clean and tidy.
• →Maneuver heavy equipment into loading and unloading positions
• →Participate, accept, and adopt the principles described in the company safety program
• →Other duties as required

• Demonstrate a high attention to detail, be extremely organized, ability to multi-task, self-motivated.
• Capable of working independently, promote a positive and safe work environment working collaboratively with team members & other management in the field in a physically demanding and fast paced work environment. 
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. 
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as lubricating, belt splicing, cleaning, etc.
• Valid class 5 driver's license with clean driver's abstract.
• First Aid & WHMIS certificates are considered and asset. 

• Overtime as required
• Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
• Must be physically able to work general labour
• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry 50 LBS as needed
• Use of personal protection equipment is required
• Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
