Tax Associate

Our client is a global VAT and Indirect Tax Compliance specialist — combining expert-led advisory with state-of-the-art technology to help businesses navigate complex compliance obligations worldwide. They're looking for a detail-obsessed, numerically sharp Tax Associate to manage client accounts and deliver technical VAT support across global operations. The Role Unlike a pure support role, you'll own designated client accounts from the start — managing compliance deliverables, liaising directly with clients and tax authorities, and providing quality control across key accounts. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who is comfortable with numbers, thrives in structured processes, and wants to build genuine expertise in international VAT and indirect tax compliance. What You'll Be Doing Manage designated client accounts and serve as their VAT compliance point of contact File VAT returns, ECSLs, and intrastat reports across multiple jurisdictions Perform VAT compliance checks and data capturing, processing, and analysis Conduct technical VAT research to support client and internal needs Handle queries and issues from clients and tax authorities Prepare for and respond to audits Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and team members Deliver accurate, timely information to all relevant parties Requirements Strong Excel proficiency and solid mathematical ability (essential) Exceptional attention to detail — accuracy is non-negotiable in this role Clear communicator comfortable liaising with clients and tax authorities Organised and methodical with the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously Background in tax, finance, or accounting advantageous EU language skills are a bonus (desirable but not essential) Benefits ✔ Direct client account ownership from day one ✔ Deep technical VAT expertise developed across multiple global jurisdictions ✔ Part of one of the world's leading tax recovery and compliance groups
