About the Role
~3 min read- Maintain a deep understanding of the Comfrt brand, customer, and aesthetic, with a strong awareness of current fit trends, proportions, and premium product standards.
- Conduct seasonal competitive fit benchmarking to understand evolving fit trends, silhouette shifts, and best-in-class standards across the market.
- Maintain a deep awareness of key benchmark brands and emerging trends, using these insights to continuously refine and elevate Comfrt's fit standards.
- Partner closely with Creators, Design, and Product teams to ensure fit evolves with the brand, remains relevant to the customer, and delivers a premium, high-quality product experience.
- Maintain exceptionally high standards for fit, quality, construction, and overall customer experience, ensuring every product aligns with the brand vision.
- Create and maintain detailed tech packs including technical flat sketches, construction details, BOMs, measurement specs, POM diagrams, grading specs, and trim and artwork placement details.
- Ensure all tech packs are accurate, production-ready, and updated throughout all development stages.
- Own the fit preparation and execution process including sourcing fit models, setting fit schedules, preparing fit samples and fit lists, measuring garments, and leading fit sessions.
- Analyze fit issues and recommend pattern corrections and construction improvements.
- Submit clear, concise, and actionable fit comments to overseas and domestic vendors and ensure all comments are turned quickly to support development calendar deadlines.
- Establish and maintain standardized fit processes, protocols, and standards across all Women's categories to ensure consistency, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Bring structure and organization to the fit process by creating clear workflows, documentation, and communication standards that improve speed to market and product quality.
- Maintain strong understanding of fabric behavior, shrinkage, stretch and recovery, wash impact, and garment balance and fit consistency.
- Troubleshoot construction and production challenges with factories and cross-functional teams.
- Review and approve Proto, Fit, PP, TOP, and bulk production samples.
- Coordinate wear testing process including requesting and prepping samples, shipping wear test packages, and compiling and analyzing feedback.
- Partner closely with QA teams to improve product consistency, define tolerances, and reduce quality issues.
- Ensure the final product aligns with approved gold seal standards and brand expectations.
- Act as the technical point of contact for overseas and domestic vendors, building strong relationships that improve communication, speed, and sample execution.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Product Development, Merchandising, Production, QA, and Fabric teams.
- Maintain design intent while balancing manufacturability, quality, cost, and speed to market.
- Update WIP reports and maintain organization across all development stages.
- Track and follow up on samples, approvals, and vendor deadlines.
- Support the Technical Design Manager and Product Development team with shifting priorities and urgent business needs.
- Help improve technical design processes, organization, and workflow efficiencies.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, Technical Design, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of Technical Design experience in apparel.
- Experience in activewear, fleece, knits, lounge, and sleepwear categories preferred.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and pattern corrections.
- Strong fabric knowledge including stretch, shrinkage, recovery, drape, and wash behavior.
- Experience with tech packs, spec sheets, grading, and sample management.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (required), Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Google Drive.
- PLM systems experience preferred; CLO 3D or AI pattern software experience a plus.
- Previous experience working in a remote or hybrid environment preferred.
- Detail-obsessed with an uncompromising commitment to fit accuracy, garment quality, and craftsmanship.
- Highly organized with the ability to build structure, clear workflows, and communication standards that improve speed to market.
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-moving environment with the ability to pivot quickly across multiple seasons, categories, and priorities simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and solutions-oriented, especially in a remote work environment.
- A strong communicator with excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
- Proactive with a willingness to jump in wherever needed to support the team and business priorities.
- Comfortable working in an evolving, high-growth environment and able to remain calm and productive under pressure.
- Team-first mentality with a positive, can-do attitude.
