Mobile Crisis Clinician partners with Crisis Support Specialists to respond in-person to crisis calls in Oakland County that cannot be resolved through the Crisis Hub via phone. This position will utilize best practices in crisis intervention in behavioral health (mental health and substance use) prevention and postvention crisis services, education, crisis stabilization services, short-term treatment (i.e. strength-based crisis therapy, cognitive-behavioral interventions, mindfulness approaches, anger management, and coping skills), and follow up services until connected to an ongoing services provider. Current Openings
- Full-Time, 36 hours per week: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, 8a - 8p.
- Various days depending on agency needs, shifts include 8a - 8p or 8p - 8a.
Compensation
- Limited Master-Level License: $31.00 - $34.00 per hour, plus applicable shift differential.
- Full Master-Level License: $34.00 - $39.00 per hour, plus applicable shift differential.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive agency vehicle (or own personal vehicle) to community locations to respond to crisis calls
- Respond swiftly to crisis calls by utilizing GPS to navigate the community, aligning with program response times
- Conduct curbside safety assessments to identify potential risks and safety concerns for individuals or families in crisis, including risks of self-harm or harm to others
- Use Crisis Theory to provide short-term interventions to people in order to facilitate immediate stabilization of emotions and behavior
- Provide active crisis intervention that is welcoming, trauma-informed, brief, and solution-focused to adults/children presenting in distress
- Complete mobile assessments of crisis situations and person/family’s needs
Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree in the Human Service field
Licensure
- Active, unrestricted Michigan clinical license (e.g., LLMSW, LCSW/LMSW, LLPC, LPC, MLP) required.
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year experience working with people with mental health, substance use and/or developmental disabilities, including children, adolescents, and families
- Experience working in crisis intervention or emergency mental health services
- Experience with broad range of age groups and disabilities, including children
- Experience with persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder
- Mobile crisis response, strongly preferred
Certifications
- Valid Michigan driver’s license, clean driving record regarding eligibility for insurability under Common Ground's insurance policy
- Meets criteria as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) defined by the State of Michigan
- Meets criteria as a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) defined by the state of Michigan
- Meets criteria as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) defined by the state of Michigan
