We're now looking for a Hardware Technician to support and maintain our in-house technology equipment and IT assets.
About the Role
~1 min readYou'll install, configure, diagnose, repair and upgrade the hardware and equipment our people rely on every day, keeping it performing at its best.
It's a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting colleagues and keeping the technology behind a growing business running smoothly.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Maintain procedures for logging and reporting on hardware performance.
- Document hardware failures, repairs, installations and removals accurately.
- Support new computer projects and new hardware installations.
- Keep up to date with hardware and equipment contracts, and supervise contract-based installations.
- Install, configure, test, maintain and troubleshoot end user workstations, networked peripherals and networking hardware.
- Support associated workstation and networking software where required.
- Diagnose and resolve complex PC problems on-site, arranging off-site repair where needed.
- Respond to hardware Jira tickets.
- Train and support staff on computer operation and related issues.
- Build, install and test customised configurations across platforms and operating systems.
- Liaise with third-party support providers and equipment vendors where needed.
- Build and maintain an inventory of monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, printers, scanners and other peripherals.
- Monitor and test PC performance, and report on performance statistics.

- Hands-on experience (2+ years) installing, configuring, diagnosing and repairing PC hardware and peripherals.
- Working knowledge of networking hardware and workstation operating systems.
- Experience resolving hardware issues through a ticketing system such as Jira.
- Clear communication skills, and comfort training and supporting non-technical staff.
- An organised approach to documentation, inventory and reporting.
- Experience working with suppliers and third-party vendors.
