About Bamboo

Bamboo is one of Africa's leading retail investing platforms. Since launch we've grown to serve hundreds of thousands of investors across multiple African markets, giving everyday people access to local and international securities, stocks, ETFs and more that were once out of reach. We're now deepening that offering across new asset classes and products, and extending our infrastructure to institutional and embedded partners.

Job Scope

You'll own Bamboo's retail investing proposition: what customers can invest in through Bamboo, how it's positioned, and how it grows. Your remit spans the investing experience itself (discovery, research, portfolio construction, trading and ongoing management) and the commercial strategy behind it: which products and asset classes to offer, who each is for, how to price and position them, and how to take them to market.

In the near term, your focus is deepening and broadening what retail customers can invest in: defining the proposition, target customer, pricing and go-to-market for products across asset classes; from savings products and custodial accounts to public offerings and equities. For each, you'll answer who it's for, why it matters to them, how Bamboo should offer it, and how it earns its place commercially.

What you will be doing:

  • Set the strategy, roadmap and priorities for Bamboo's retail investing proposition, aligned to customer and revenue goals.

  • Define and launch investment products across asset classes: savings, public offerings, equities, and others, owning the proposition, target customer, pricing and positioning for each.

  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify white-space opportunities and anticipate shifts in the retail investing landscape.

  • Build intuitive experiences that help customers discover, evaluate and invest with confidence.

  • Partner with the Investment Platform team to bring new products, asset classes and markets to retail customers.

  • Work with Research, Operations, Compliance and Engineering to deliver reliable, compliant and engaging investing experiences.

  • Partner with Marketing and Growth on positioning, messaging and go-to-market to launch products successfully.

  • Balance customer needs, commercial priorities and regulatory requirements when prioritising investment.

  • Use customer research, behavioural insight and product analytics to improve adoption, engagement and long-term customer outcomes.

What success looks like

  • Successful launch and adoption of new investment products and asset classes for retail customers.

  • Revenue growth from retail investment products.

  • Growth in funded, actively investing customers, and in the share who progress from first investment to repeat participation.

  • Improved conversion through the core investing journey (discovery → research → first trade).

  • Growth in invested balances / assets under custody across retail.

  • Sustained engagement and retention among investing customers.

Who you are

  • You have 4–6 years of product management experience, with significant time on customer-facing consumer or fintech products.

  • You have experience building consumer fintech or investment products: you've shipped financial products customers actually adopted.

  • You have domain grounding in investing, wealth management, brokerage or other financial services, including delivering products within a regulated environment.

  • You have commercial acumen: comfortable with pricing, unit economics and the trade-offs behind product and go-to-market decisions.

  • You have demonstrated ownership of products with measurable customer and commercial outcomes, from discovery through delivery.

  • You have a strong track record using customer research, behavioural insight and product analytics to drive decisions.

  • You have strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving.

  • You have excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional influence; you're a trusted product voice recognised for domain expertise, sound trade-off judgement, and coaching others.

Nice to Haves

  • Direct experience launching a specific asset class or instrument.

  • Familiarity with portfolio management, investment research or capital markets.

  • Experience supporting products across multiple countries or markets.
