[Now Hiring] Live Events Producer for @JohnnyChangLive
Quick Summary
We're actively hiring for this role right now. Our team is reviewing applications as they come in. Strong applications get a response. Weak ones, and applications that ignore the instructions below, get archived without a reply. Send us your strongest proof of the work.
Every live event we produce is a chance for someone to encounter God for the first time. The person in the back row of a church who almost didn't come. The family that drove two hours because they saw a clip online.
We're hiring for this role right now and reviewing applications as they come in. We move fast on the strongest ones. Due to the volume we tend to receive, if you do not follow the instructions below, your application will quickly be skipped over. Send us your best proof of the work you've actually done.
Responsibilities
~1 min readOur current pace is roughly one weekend of live events per month. You'll have clear systems to follow from Day 1.
- →
Book and successfully complete at least 3 weekends of live events in your first 90 days.
- →
Deliver a complete pre-production package (tech rider, run-of-show, travel plan, vendor contracts) for each event at least 30 days out.
Create a polished "Johnny Chang Live Event" partnership package and send it to at least 15 high-potential churches or venues.
Generate at least 5 qualified booking conversations from that outreach by Day 90.
Every event you touch has a fully maintained ClickUp project with zero overdue tasks and clear status updates posted weekly.
Successfully produce and run at least 2 live events end-to-end with no critical logistical failures.
You have never created an event from scratch. If you have never had to hunt out venues, negotiate vendors, run full budgets, and hire your own team, this position is not for you.
You have never produced events with 1,000+ attendees or managed multi-city tour logistics. We need someone who has done this, not someone who wants to learn.
You don't have artifacts you can share from past events. We'll ask you to walk us through a real project board, budget, or run-of-show from work you've done. Without that, we can't move forward.
You need to be told what to do next. This role requires you to own the entire operation and drive it forward without oversight.
You struggle to communicate proactively across a remote team. If leadership has to chase you for updates, this won't work.
You are not comfortable with the faith-based mission. Every event exists to help people encounter God. If that doesn't resonate with you personally, this is the wrong fit.
You crumble under pressure. Flights get canceled, venues fall through, and gear breaks. You need to solve problems on the spot without panicking.
Requirements
~1 min read3+ years producing live events as the person who owned them. If someone handed you the client, or you just managed an event someone handed to you, that is a different job than this one.
Live events of 1,000+ attendees that you personally carried from empty calendar to load-out. You booked the venue, built the budget, hired and directed the vendors (AV, catering, security, volunteers), wrote the run-of-show, and ran the day.
Deep knowledge of tour routing and travel logistics: flight booking, car rentals, Airbnb/lodging coordination, and budgeting for multi-city trips.
Strong budgeting skills. You must be able to build, manage, and stay within event budgets across multiple simultaneous productions.
Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills. You will represent our brand to pastors, venue managers, and partners.
Proficiency in ClickUp (or equivalent PM tool), Google Drive, AI tools, and event management/booking software.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as events require.
Must be a systems-builder who documents processes so events are repeatable at scale.
What We Offer
~1 min readStarting pay is $3,000-$3,500/month (about one weekend of events per month).
The scope and pay can grow very quickly with this role. As you take on more, it expands into managing bigger live events, prison ministry, and Johnny's travel for everything else he does, like conferences, press tours, and more. Our goal is to find someone who grows into a full-time role running the whole road operation.
Please submit the following. If your application skips either item, or your experience is not made clear, we will politely pass over it.
A budget or run-of-show from an event you owned end to end. Add one line on what you personally decided on that event and what you would do differently next time. Redactions are fine. We want your structure and your judgment, not your private numbers.
A short screen recording (Loom or equivalent, 3 minutes max) walking us through your project management board or event tracking system for a real past or current event. Show us your tools, your structure, and how you stay on top of details.
Keep God First - We focus on the gospel and how it can impact peoples' lives.
Radical Accountability - We own outcomes, not intentions. You come with solutions, not problems.
Move with Urgency & Discipline - We act quickly on the most impactful tasks for the business. You're not scared to make calculated decisions with incomplete information.
Committed to Systems & Processes - We build systems so excellence doesn't depend on individuals. We build for scale.
Embody Grace For Each Other - Always speak honestly and openly address issues, but remember that everything comes through grace.
