Responsibilities

~1 min read

You will own cash accounting across a complex, global banking structure and safeguard the integrity of the cash ledger at scale. You will own the key SOX controls over cash and payments and lead the audit relationship. You will re-architect manual processes into automated, AI-enabled workflows built to scale. And you will partner directly with Treasury and Finance leadership, turning complex banking mechanics into decisions.

You will be joining an exceptionally credentialed team drawn from Big 4 practice and public company finance, with IPO experience behind us and deep SOX fluency as our baseline rather than our differentiator. We are builders: we design our own automations and deploy agentic AI against work that should not exist. The culture is strategic and genuinely generous, with colleagues who carry real mastery without ever needing to announce it. If you want to do the most technically ambitious cash work in the market alongside people who will make you better, this is where it happens.

About the Role

~1 min read
  • Global Cash Accounting: Own the end-to-end accounting for cash and cash equivalents across a high-volume, multi-bank, multi-currency banking structure, including daily cash activity coding, month-end cash tie-outs, and the integrity of the cash ledger at scale.
  • Reconciliations at Scale: Own bank and clearing account reconciliations across a large and growing account population; drive aged and unreconciled items to zero by fixing the upstream process, not by papering over the reconciliation.
  • Payments & Disbursements: Partner with AP, Payroll, AR, and Treasury to ensure accurate recording, classification, and cut-off of wires, ACH, card, and FX settlement activity; maintain rigorous hygiene over in-transit and suspense balances.
  • Restricted Cash & Debt Service: Account for restricted cash, escrow, collateral, and letter of credit balances; support interest, debt service, and covenant-related cash reporting in partnership with Treasury.
  • Statement of Cash Flows Support: Provide the transaction-level data, classification logic, and analysis that underpin the Statement of Cash Flows, including proper operating, investing, and financing treatment of complex activity.
  • Control Ownership: Own and operate key SOX controls over cash, bank reconciliations, payments, and treasury system interfaces; ensure evidence is complete, timely, and audit-ready by design
  • Narratives & Risk Control Matrices: Design and maintain process narratives and Risk Control Matrices for the cash cycle; proactively identify control gaps as volumes, entities, and banking relationships change, and remediate before they become findings.
  • Audit Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors on cash and treasury walkthroughs, sample selections, and substantive testing.
  • Controls That Scale: Build and re-architect control frameworks that hold up as transaction volume, entity count, and banking complexity grow rapidly; balance control rigor against close velocity in a high-growth environment.
  • Close Command: Own the cash workstream on the critical path of close in FloQast, NetSuite, and boundary systems; enforce strict cut-off procedures and continuously compress the close timeline.
  • Agentic AI for Close: Identify, pilot, and deploy agentic AI and machine-driven solutions for reconciliation matching, transaction classification, exception triage, flux commentary, and evidence gathering; define the guardrails, review points, and control design that make AI-assisted accounting auditable.
  • Systems Architecture: Lead the design of automated bank feeds, cash application logic, matching rules, and treasury-to-ERP integrations; drive implementation of subledger and supporting solutions that produce accuracy at the source.
  • Scale Through Design: Replace manual, spreadsheet-bound processes with scalable, systematized workflows capable of supporting order-of-magnitude growth in transaction volume without a proportional increase in headcount.
  • Treasury & Finance Alignment: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Treasury on cash positioning, forecasting inputs, banking structure changes, and liquidity reporting; ensure the accounting record and the treasury view reconcile and tell the same story.
  • Broad Stakeholder Reach: Operate fluidly across the broader Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, Tax, Procurement, and Technical Accounting organizations, as well as banking partners and external auditors.
  • Clear Communication: Translate complex cash and banking mechanics into clear, decision-ready commentary for senior Accounting and Finance leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to cash, treasury, or high-volume transactional accounting in a complex environment (public company experience required).
  • SOX & Controls Depth:
    • Demonstrated ownership of SOX 404 key controls, including control design, narrative, risk and control management, and direct interaction with internal and external audit.
    • Proven track record building and scaling control environments in a company experiencing rapid growth in volume, headcount, and entity complexity.
  • Technical Mastery: Strong command of US GAAP as applied to cash and cash equivalents, restricted cash (ASU 2016-18), the Statement of Cash Flows (ASC 230), and foreign currency matters (ASC 830).
  • Systems Proficiency: Power user of NetSuite or comparable robust ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.), close management software (FloQast/BlackLine), treasury management systems (Kyriba preferred), and bank portals, and BI and data management tools, with genuine fluency in AI-enabled and agentic automation solutions.
  • Automation Mindset: instinctively ask whether a task should exist at all before you ask how to do it faster, and you have shipped automations that permanently removed manual work from a close.
  • Soft Skills: A proactive self-starter who moves without being asked and a clear communicator who can hold a room of cross-functional stakeholders. Curious, agile, and energized by the pace and ambiguity of a high-growth company. A relentless problem solver: you do not just identify a discrepancy; you trace it to the source, fix the root cause, and implement a control to prevent recurrence.
