The Global Supplier Management and Technical Sourcing team builds the strategic partnerships that fuel technical innovation, uphold rigorous quality standards, and deliver significant cost savings through optimized supply chain solutions. The team works across engineering, product, operations, legal, finance, and the global supply base to secure the hardware, systems, and infrastructure required to scale CoreWeave’s data center deployments.

About the Role

~3 min read

As a Staff Technical Sourcing Manager, you will serve as the primary commercial lead for a portfolio of hardware technologies, systems, or infrastructure categories powering our data center deployments. You will own the end-to-end sourcing strategy for your area—from technology and supplier selection through negotiation, contracting, ramp, and lifecycle management—and build the supply resilience needed to scale reliably in a market where capacity is scarce and lead times are long. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and commercial strategy, requiring you to shape technical requirements and influence supplier roadmaps before designs are locked. Leveraging deep industry knowledge and executive-level supplier relationships, you will optimize total cost of ownership across our rapidly expanding global infrastructure, where a change to a single component or system can move the economics of an entire fleet.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine comprehensive sourcing strategies and multi-generation roadmaps for your assigned portfolio, aligning supply capability to business growth and technology direction.
  • Maintain a deep pulse on emerging technologies, supply and demand dynamics, capacity investment, and industry trends. Conduct competitive analyses and benchmark the supply base to inform build-versus-buy, qualification, and dual-source decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the sourcing process for new platforms, technologies, and components—defining requirements, running RFI, RFQ, and RFP events, evaluating proposals on technical and commercial merit, and driving business award decisions.
  • Lead complex, high-value supplier negotiations covering pricing, capacity, quality and delivery commitments, warranty, liability, and intellectual property. Secure favorable terms that protect supply and margin.
  • Own the drafting, execution, and administration of master supply agreements, long-term agreements, statements of work, and amendments. Partner with Legal to manage risk and ensure commercial terms are enforced throughout the life of each agreement.
  • Build bottom-up should-cost models and total cost of ownership analyses to inform negotiation strategy and identify cost reduction opportunities. Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, savings tracking, and reconciliation, and maintain accountability for committed cost targets.
  • Build supply resilience through qualified dual sourcing, geographic and sub-tier diversification, capacity reservations, and long-term supply commitments. Identify and mitigate exposure from single points of failure, sub-tier constraints, allocation events, tariffs, trade policy, and geopolitical disruption.
  • Establish and manage supplier scorecards across cost, quality, delivery, technology, and responsiveness. Lead quarterly and executive business reviews, drive corrective action where performance gaps exist, and hold suppliers to continuous improvement commitments.
  • Cultivate and sustain durable relationships with executive leadership across the supply base, influencing supplier business models, investment decisions, and technology roadmaps in our favor.
  • Drive commercial engagement for prototype and development sourcing, secure early build materials, and support a seamless transition from NPI through qualification to volume production and global deployment.
  • Operate as the connective tissue between Hardware Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, Product, Demand and Supply Planning, Data Center Operations, Legal, and Finance—building consensus across teams and driving decisions to closure in a fast-moving environment.
  • Propose and implement innovative supply chain, logistics, and inventory improvements that increase speed, reduce landed cost, and improve working capital.
  • 8+ years of experience in technical sourcing, commodity or category management, or supply chain management within data center, hyperscaler, cloud service provider, AI systems, or a related high-technology hardware industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, a related technical field, Supply Chain, or Business Administration. Equivalent experience in high-tech commodity management will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop sourcing strategy and translate it into executed results, on schedule and against measurable cost, quality, and supply objectives.
  • Exceptional negotiation, influencing, and consensus-building skills, with a track record of leading complex commercial agreements to signature.
  • Strong command of should-cost modeling, total cost of ownership analysis, and value analysis, with the financial and analytical fluency to defend a position with data.
  • Technical depth sufficient to engage credibly with engineering teams on requirements, trade-offs, and supplier technical proposals.
  • Proven experience partnering with C-suite executives and senior supplier stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with internal and external partners in fast-paced, ambiguous, cross-functional environments.
