CoroVets Whangamata is a locally owned, mixed-animal practice based in the stunning beachside town of Whangamata. The Role
We’re looking for an experienced veterinary nurse to join our team in a casual mixed nursing/reception role.
This position is primarily to cover one in four weekends, working both Saturday and Sunday, with the opportunity for additional shifts to cover annual leave or other staff absences as needed.
This is a varied and independent role combining hands-on nursing, reception, client communication and general clinic support. On weekends, you will work alongside the duty veterinarian, so you will need to be confident managing both clinical and front desk responsibilities in a busy clinic environment. You will play an important role in helping the clinic run smoothly while providing excellent care to patients and clients.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver outstanding clinical care and client service
- Work closely with our veterinarians, reception staff, and practice manager to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative culture centred on continuous improvement and compassion
- Support the development of nursing protocols and participate in ongoing training
About You
You are an experienced veterinary nurse who is confident working independently and managing both nursing and reception tasks.
You’ll ideally have experience or interest in:
- Anaesthesia monitoring with multi-parameter equipment (including capnography)
- Dental radiography and prophylaxis Surgical nursing, especially orthopaedics
- Organisational and time-management skills
- Commitment to professional growth and maintaining high standards of care
