Costing Analyst

Role summary: The Costing Analyst is responsible for forecasting, analyzing, and reporting crop-level and hybrid-level costs for the Seed Production and Supply Chain (SPSC) function. The role supports operational decision-making, marketing pricing strategies and financial control by delivering accurate, timely, and analytically robust cost information. Core responsibilities: * Prepare monthly crop-level cost projections for field and plant operations of Seed Production and Supply Chain (SPSC) function on excel spreadsheets, following FIFO costing * Validate volumes forecasts for field and plant activity received from operations team – to ensure appropriate assumptions supporting cost projections * Maintain documentation of key assumptions, models, and methodologies to support audit and review requirements * Prepare worksheets to provide the hybrid-wise cost to support marketing team on pricing decisions * Provide quick simulations of cost forecast based on marketing team’s request * Understand the grower payments process and support the validation/ review of payment requests * Validate the year-to-date actuals with outlook projections and provide analytics for variances noted * Ensure integrity of cost data by aligning projections with actuals and approved operational assumptions * Support monthly/ quarterly flux variances on relevant line items like inventory, grower advances, grower payable accruals * Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors on financial statement schedules and audit testing, relevant to seed operations Systems & Tools: * Strong hands-on exposure to Advanced Excel (required) * Exposure to ERP systems (SAP or similar) preferred * Experience working with large datasets, reconciliations, and forecast models Soft skills: * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities * Attention to detail with ability to work under tight timelines * Stakeholder management in translating complex cost data into meaningful insights for stakeholders Key stakeholders: * Operations / Field teams (volume forecasts, assumptions) * Marketing team (pricing support, simulations) * Regional Operations Finance and Commercial Finance * Accounts Payable * Corporate Finance Job location: * Primarily in Service center, Wave rock (Nanakramguda). Travel to plant and corporate offices will be planned based on business requirements and stakeholder needs. * 3-4 days a month in Corporate office (Ascendas IT park, Madhapur) for meetings with stakeholders * Good to visit Medchal plant 3-4 days in a month * Minimum 12 days presence in office every month (including all locations)
