The Global Planner represents and leads Supply Chain Planning within the Supply Strategy Team and is the key role for planning, controlling and scheduling all activities supporting assigned Active ingredients. The Global Planner balances production and inventory levels with demand to support targets consistent with business strategy, customer service levels, inventory turn targets, and capacity utilization. The role is accountable for developing feasible 24-month rolling master plans at the family and/or sub-family level, and for planned requirements for raw materials, across the same horizon. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Translate demand requirements and supply capability into a time-phased aggregate supply and inventory plan across the S&OP horizon, with a focus on the mid-term horizon and lowest total business cost. * Participate in the S&OP process and meetings, providing clear supply planning insights, risks, and recommendations. * Perform resource requirements planning for family and sub-family aggregate plans, identifying capacity gaps and defining corrective and optimization actions across the mid- and long-term horizon. * Establishes, communicates, and enforces regional AI allocations aligned to business strategy, and ensure that issues related to manufacturing, supply chain or financial projections are resolved or escalated resulting in an approved financial forecast * Fulfills the Global Planning OBP Role and Production Planning role for Material types I and III (PPM Planned locations) * Responsible for Production Forecasting and Communication, PO’s/Ship to Plan * Focal point in communication to translate the supply strategy into execution by very clear and precise tactical planning – this role is the conduit between global and regional supply organizations. * Develop recommendations to address mid-term capacity constraints and support decision-making through planning scenarios and trade-off analysis. * Works with the Global Supply leader to set long term supply plans and inventory strategies for specific Active Ingredients in support of the IO end to end supply strategy * Define 24 month sourcing requirements for active ingredients, raw materials, intermediates, based on the production plan and sourcing strategy. * Track master planning performance metrics and lead root cause analysis to improve supply plan accuracy, capacity utilization, and inventory performance. * Recommend changes to target inventories, inventory turns, and safety stock levels to achieve required service levels within policy guidelines. * Develop and evaluate “what-if” scenarios to support S&OP planning, risk mitigation, and business continuity decisions. * Ensure inventory is positioned appropriately across the network to support distribution strategy while minimizing total inventory and distribution cost. * Collaborate with Demand Management to ensure lead times and resource capacity requirements are reflected in demand review and approval processes. * Facilitate alignment across Sales, Marketing, Demand Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Sourcing to balance supply and demand in the mid-term horizon. * Regularly review planning parameters and assumptions, including yield, cycle time, uptime, and shutdown days, to ensure plan integrity. * Identify business requirements to maximize the value of planning systems and tools and support user capability development and process adherence. PLANNING GOVERNANCE & AUDIT The role provides ongoing analysis of global demand, supply, and inventory performance, resolves planning issues with regional planners, and identifies opportunities to improve plan quality. It also supports periodic planning audits, using standard defect criteria to assess adherence, data quality, and process discipline across master scheduling levels. KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES * Aggregate supply plan performance, including accuracy and bias * Capacity utilization * Inventory performance to plan, including value, volume, and inventory days of supply * Master data accuracy across planning systems DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY Balance and reconcile demand, supply, and inventory across the mid-term horizon to meet customer requirements within policy and business objectives, while escalating material risks and unresolved issues through the appropriate governance channels. KEY DELIVERABLES * A valid mid-term production plan * Clear communication of the production plan and its business impact * Planning policies and processes relevant to capacity, lead times, tolerances, and distribution restocking * Development and presentation of the rolling mid-term plan within the S&OP process * Supplier schedules covering the 24 month planning horizon ## Keys to success * Proficient in SAP/IBP/ERP technology and supply chain systems (Ex: OBP, Agg Planning…) * Proficient in application of planning tools and technology * Strong communication skills. Connects and integrates well with global and regional teams across Integrated Operations * High Learning agility and detail orientation * Influence and prioritization capabilities to build and execute plans * Strong problem solver; ability to develop options based on analytics and data * Act as coach for other global planners and regional/asset planners where applicable * Ability to work across functions, cultures, and time zones * Incorporates strategic planning elements into daily actions ## Qualifications and Education Requirements * The role requires at minimum a B.S. degree in an area relevant to Supply (Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering other Sciences). * Minimum of 5 years work experience, including experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Procurement. Experience in at least one of the specialty areas is preferred.
