Senior Projects Manager (Electrical – Transmission & Distribution within Renewables

About the Role Our client, a leading player in the renewable energy sector, is looking for a Senior Projects Manager with a strong technical background and proven experience in electrical reticulation—including Medium Voltage (MV), High Voltage (HV), and Low Voltage (LV) systems, Eskom connections, and distribution & transmission line projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the successful delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects from planning through to grid connection, ensuring compliance with Eskom, NERSA, and other relevant authorities. Key Responsibilities Oversee the end-to-end management of renewable energy projects (Solar, Wind, Hybrid), with a focus on grid integration and reticulation infrastructure Manage MV, HV, and LV electrical design, construction, and commissioning Ensure compliance with Eskom, municipal and other utility provider standards Liaise with Eskom for grid code compliance, permitting, and power purchase agreements (PPA) Lead project teams and contractors, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule Develop project timelines, track milestones, and manage risks proactively Coordinate with engineering, procurement, environmental and legal teams Provide regular progress reports to senior stakeholders Ensure SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality) standards are maintained on-site Required Experience & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or related field Minimum 8–10 years' project management experience in electrical infrastructure or renewable energy projects Proven experience working with MV, HV lines, Eskom connections, substations, transformers, and reticulation systems Knowledge of NERSA, Grid Code, SSEG, and municipal technical requirements PMP or PRINCE2 certification would be an advantage Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Willingness to travel to remote project locations across South Africa
