Electronic Technician 1st Shift - $35.71/Hour

Perform Electronic Technician activities including troubleshoot electronic problems (i.e., welders, robots, terminals, etc.) as directed.  Demonstrate the ability to retain and apply past experiences to current problems.  Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of existing equipment and be able to learn new equipment.  Establish work procedures and issuance of instructions to Electronic Technician “B” or helpers.  Performing of mechanic work is required.

• Perform Electronic Technician activities as required by supervision.
• Troubleshoot electronic problems (i.e. welders, robots, terminals, etc.) as directed by supervision.
• Supply own tools as directed by supervision.
• Report labor and job data accurately.
• Maintain quality, safety and efficiency.
• Maintain clean and neat work area.
• Perform other duties within the department or plant as directed by supervision.

Must be able to physically perform essential functions of the job.  Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.  Typically requires standing and walking on a regular basis, and sitting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, reaching and handling occasionally.  Specific vision requirements include depth perception, color vision and peripheral vision.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Two-year technical college or three years on-the-job experience preferred. Valid driver's license required when using Company truck. Complete Company Electronic Technician test.

Demonstration of superior troubleshooting and technical capabilities as an Electronic Technician “B” is required.  Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.  Prior industrial electronics experience is necessary.

A good command of the English language is required, both written and spoken.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.  Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment down to component level (using O’Scope, meter, counter, soldering, etc.).  Ability to apply knowledge/experience to new situations.  Ability to retain and apply past experiences to current problem.  Ability to read and use electrical schematics.  Possess and demonstrate mechanical aptitude.  Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of existing equipment and be able to learn new equipment.

Occasionally exposed to noise, odors, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, drafts, vibration, electricity and heights.  Hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes with metatarsal protection are required.
