Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Engine Cadet to join our team. As an Engine Cadet, you will work alongside experienced engineers and gain valuable hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of ship engines and other mechanical systems. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity for growth and development in the maritime industry.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the operation, maintenance, and repair of ship engines and other mechanical systems
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of equipment
- Monitor and record engine performance and report any abnormalities to senior engineers
- Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures
- Learn and follow all company policies and procedures related to engine operations and safety
- Complete assigned tasks and projects in a timely and efficient manner
- Attend training sessions and courses to develop technical skills and knowledge
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completed or currently enrolled in a maritime academy or training program
- Basic knowledge of ship engines and mechanical systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
- Willingness to work long hours and in various weather conditions
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally if required
