Senior Data Engineer

The Senior Data Engineer owns the design and delivery of robust, scalable data pipelines, models, and infrastructure that power Crexi’s data and analytics. The role drives data quality and reliability, mentors other engineers, and partners across teams. It exists to deliver trustworthy, performant data systems at the scale Crexi’s products require.

  Designs, builds, and owns scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows and the underlying data models.

  Drives data quality, reliability, observability, and performance across data systems.

  Partners with analytics, ML, software, and product teams to deliver data for products and insights.

  Owns data infrastructure and orchestration and improves CI/CD for data workflows.

  Integrates AI-assisted development tools into the team’s workflow to improve quality and velocity, and contributes to evaluating AI-powered capabilities in Crexi’s products.

  Leads resolution of complex data issues and improves system reliability.

  Mentors engineers and contributes to data engineering standards. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 

• 4+ years of data engineering experience, including ownership of scalable pipelines and models. 

• Strong proficiency with SQL and a data-engineering language (e.g., Python), plus pipeline/orchestration tools. 

• Experience designing scalable data models and cloud data platforms (e.g., warehouse/lakehouse). 

• Solid grasp of data quality, observability, and performance optimization. 

• Sound judgment using AI-assisted development tools. 

• Ability to mentor and elevate other engineers.

The anticipated base salary range for candidates who will work in our Playa Vista, California location is $158,000 to $214,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, the type and length of experience applicable to the role and within the industry, education, geographic location, etc. Commercial Real Estate Exchange, Inc (“Crexi”) is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
