This is a working foreman role responsible for oversight of the field installation of sanitary process systems. The position provides daily leadership and coaching to craft workers while performing installation work as part of the crew as necessary to complete the job.
The Installation Craft Welder-Lead requires flexibility, extensive travel, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Positive representation of CSI to customers is an important part of this position.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assign daily tasks to craft workers and provide day-to-day leadership and coaching
- →Perform installation and welding tasks as part of the crew as necessary to complete the work
- →Monitor crew productivity and quality and report results to the manager
- →Scope current jobs and estimate labor and materials
- →Provide bills of materials and labor estimates for future jobs to project managers for bidding
- →Ensure crew compliance with customer GMP and safety requirements
- →Administer and enforce CSI safety policies and procedures with a high level of concern for safety
- →Inspect CSI-owned and rented equipment daily, including scissor lifts and forklifts, and track equipment on-site
- →Walk completed projects with customers and obtain sign-off of system acceptance before site demobilization
- →Identify potential craft workers and coordinate interviews with the manager
- →Assist with shop fabrication as needed
- Strong attention to detail is necessary to complete work as required
- Good understanding of welding techniques and the ability to apply those techniques to produce quality work for the customer
- Ability to accurately read and interpret measurements, blueprints, drawings, and schematics
- Pride of ownership and accepting responsibility for work performed are key personal characteristics
- Ability to safely operate required tools and equipment
- Commitment to safety and professional customer service
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Welding Certificate, preferred
- 4+ years of TIG welding/GTAW experience
- 2 years of supervision or lead experience, preferred
- Sanitary process piping experience, required
- Leadership and coaching skills with the ability to guide a field installation crew
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and customer service
- Flexibility to travel and work varying schedules based on project requirements
Requirements
~1 min readOvernight and/or weekend travel is necessary and may, at times, be as much as 100%. Travel may be by air or company vehicle. A valid Class E driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one, is required.
CSI provides required tools, travel, hotel accommodations, meals, and other miscellaneous travel expenses associated with the position.
Field installation positions are very active and require frequent and/or continuous standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 75 pounds with assistance. Visual acuity is required to perform work using close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may be exposed to environmental factors typical of welding and field installation. Working outside or in non-climate-controlled environments may be required. The employee must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including fall protection, safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and other PPE appropriate to the work being performed.
