  • Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution; An A.B.D will be considered, with a terminal degree anticipated by August 20, 2027 
  • Potential or evidence of excellence in university-level teaching of in person and remote teaching modalities
  • Potential or evidence of excellence in scholarship through publication in high quality journals

 

  • Relevant prior professional work experience in the field, preferably in Audit or Data Analytics
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed by the time of the appointment.
  • Evidence of effective engagement or potential to engage with and mentor a diverse student body
  • Teaching experience in the audit and/or data analytics field
  • Experience creating a student-centered learning environment, including active and interactive learning
  • Experience using culturally responsive pedagogy

The department of Accounting at the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics, California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking two tenure-track faculty members in Audit at the rank of Assistant Professor.

 

The successful candidate will teach Audit, Data Analytics and/or Accounting courses and have research interests in Accounting and related fields. The position requires an ongoing program of scholarship in Accounting and maintaining the criterion for “Scholarly Academic” under AACSB’s accreditation requirement.

 

In addition to teaching and research, the position requires weekly office hours, attending faculty meetings, participation in assessment of student learning, and service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate may be required to teach on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and/or online and will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are housed for recommending tenure and promotion. Given CSUN’s commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and engagement in a diverse environment, the successful candidate will help the Department achieve equitable academic outcomes for all students through teaching, student mentorship, scholarship, and service.
