The Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and Counseling at California State University, San Bernardino is accepting applications for part-time lecturers in the Special Education Program. The program prepares educators to serve students with disabilities and supports candidates pursuing California Education Specialist credentials in Mild to Moderate Support Needs, Extensive Support Needs, and Early Childhood Special Education.

We are seeking highly qualified candidates to teach graduate-level special education courses and/or supervise candidates in fieldwork experiences. The successful candidate is expected to prepare and deliver instruction aligned with program and credential requirements, assess student learning, hold regular office hours, and provide timely feedback on candidate progress. Courses and supervision assignments are based on program needs and the candidate's areas of expertise. Part-time faculty are also expected to participate in program events and meetings and attend teacher orientation sessions, as appropriate. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities include:

• Teaching graduate-level special education courses as assigned
• Supervising candidates in fieldwork, student teaching, and/or internship experiences as assigned
• Participating in program events, meetings, and teacher orientation sessions
• Collaborating with program faculty to maintain alignment among coursework, fieldwork, credential requirements, and professional standards

• Master's degree in Special Education or a closely related field
• For teaching assignments, at least five years of successful public-school teaching experience in special education
• For university supervision assignments, a master's degree in Special Education or a closely related field and an applicable California Education Specialist credential in Mild/Moderate Support Needs, Extensive Support Needs, Early Childhood Special Education, or a previously issued equivalent credential
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students

• An earned doctorate in a field related to the course or supervision assignment
• Evidence of successful graduate-level teaching
• Experience mentoring or supervising graduate students in special education fieldwork
• Familiarity with the Canvas learning management system
• Evidence of scholarly activity and publication
