Under general supervision, the Financial Services Specialist coordinates financial administration, payroll, procurement, and accounting operations. The position analyzes financial transactions, reviews reconciliations, facilitates artist payments, monitors rental settlements, and ensures compliance with university financial policies and procedures.

• Coordinates and monitors day-to-day financial and accounting processes of YSNC, ensuring financial operations are performed accurately and timely.
• Reviews and analyzes financial reconciliations and account activity. Monitors fund balances and recommends changes and/or actions to ensure the organization remains on target.
• Coordinates and monitors processes related to YSNC monthly payroll and related HR functions, including monthly coordination with YSNC Department Heads to ensure timely processing to meet University deadlines.
• Coordinates and monitors processes related to YSNC procurement, including the CSUBUY Procure-to-Pay platform, to ensure accurate and timely completion.
• Works in close coordination with YSNC Artistic Programming team and University Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate artist payments, including review of contracts and assessment of state and federal withholdings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in in accounting, finance or a job-related field.
• Equivalent to five (5) years of full-time, progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Oversight and administration of a program with supervision and/or lead experience.
• Three to five years of experience at a higher education institution is preferred.

• Detail and process-oriented person with the ability to be inquisitive and pro-active in understanding how changes in university processes will affect the ongoing financial and operational processes of The Soraya.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment both independently, as well as part of a team, under the pressure of time deadlines.
• Ability to safely manage sensitive, confidential financial data with professional integrity.
• Ability to work with numbers accurately, calculate figures, and verify financial reports.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict university deadlines, while remaining flexible and adaptable to shifting event priorities and deadlines.
