We are currently seeking experienced candidates for the position of Program Analyst, CAR/W. The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. The anticipated salary hiring range is up to $64,860 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $57,588 - $83,904 per year (Step 1 - Step 20); Step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience. Step placement upon appointment is not expected to exceed Step 7 ($64,860 per year). Future increases, including step advancement, are subject to contract negotiations.
Administrative Analyst/Specialist – Non-Exempt
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Program Analyst, CAR/W to provide general administrative support to the CSU Center for the Advancement of Reading and Writing (CAR/W), particularly with respect to data management related to professional learning for the Expository Reading and Writing Curriculum (ERWC), event coordination, communications, procurement preparation of event materials, and administrative support.
Responsibilities
~3 min readUnder the general direction of the Co-Director of Center for the Advancement of Reading and Writing (CAR/W), the Program Analyst, CAR/W will perform duties as outlined below:
Data Management:
-Perform data management tasks for CAR/W to include data management for ERWC workshops, state-wide course adoption, coordination with Canvas implementation, etc.
-Manage data for CAR/W workshops and events including web postings and workshop attendance.
-Maintain materials inventory and track workshop materials shipments.
-Communicate with county regional leads, CSU Faculty/K12 workshop facilitators and EAP coordinators as needed to verify data and obtain records.
-Prepare reports for CAR/W Director as needed.
-Protect the security of sensitive data.
Event Coordination:
-Coordinate, plan and implement event logistics of CAR/W meetings, professional learning trainings, workshops, conferences, and other events (in person and virtual) including meeting space, meals, necessary approvals, registration, and attendee communications.
-Set up event registration, procure, prepare, and pack materials for shipment, track shipments as needed, duplicate documents and materials, and track attendance.
-Maintain detailed event related records and assist with processing expenses for events and professional learning opportunities for educators regardless of funding source.
-Plan webinar series, create flyers, and distribute to proper channels.
-Develop minutes and meeting notes for CAR/W office and support meetings, including, but not limited to grant meetings and advisory board meetings. Then prepare and distribute meeting materials.
-Attend on-site and off-site meetings.
Communications:
-Monitor, update, and oversee CAR/W websites, social media accounts and other communications.
-Coordinate and oversee the workflow for formatting, producing, and preparing CAR/W flyers, correspondence, and other communications materials for web publication and print distribution while ensuring accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and compliance with accessibility standards.
-Manage updates and changes to the ERWC online community website. Post regular announcements, archive old materials, update new materials, monitor discussion boards for questions, and answer inquiries.
-Attend website planning meetings with ERWC faculty and leadership team.
-Respond to requests for information generated by the ERWC Online Community.
General Operations Support:
-Assist in the administrative coordination of programs in the CAR/W department.
-Monitor CAR/W info email and field requests for information, receive guests, and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
-Support and assist in the work of the CAR/W Administrative Analyst in compiling data. Serve as back-up with processing of expenditures, procurement and purchasing as needed.
-Order office supplies consistent with all applicable CSU Chancellor’s Office policies and procedures.
-Record keeping and processing of special consultants’ timesheets.
Other Duties as Assigned:
-Other duties as assigned, including support to department administrative staff as needed, assist with special projects, and perform other general office duties as directed.
-Serve as backup to other CAR/W administrative staff as directed.
-Oversee the work activities of student assistant(s) in the routine functions of the CAR/W department.
Requirements

-A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience is required, and a minimum of three years of progressive administrative experience in a related area.
-Proficiency with current computer platforms and software programs, such as Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign, and ability to learn new programs as needed.
-Strong administrative/office support experience, demonstrating competent performance, strong organizational skills, ability to work with minimum supervision and frequent interruptions, and flexibility in designing and learning new systems/procedures.
-Solid writing and communication skills required to include proofreading, proper punctuation and grammar usage.
-Effective communication and listening skills by working directly with a diverse group of individuals in a multicultural environment, including employees at all levels within the university systems, partners and stakeholders. Provides a clear service orientation to the individuals and institutions served by the CARW department.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to project data, and ability to prepare reports summarizing progress.
-Understanding of contracting and procurement procedures, and ability to learn more advanced concepts/procedures.
-Strong knowledge and experience with event planning and coordination practices required.
-Ability to solve problems and respond to changes in program direction and procedures.
-Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and a calm composed approach when managing changing priorities, competing demands and challenging situations.
-Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively and efficiently with staff, faculty, and administrators from diverse backgrounds.
-Experience working with complex organizational unit planning is highly preferred.
