This is an exciting opportunity to lead planning outcomes that will help shape the future of Sydney Olympic Park as it evolves into a thriving, connected and sustainable community. You will lead the authority’s planning functions across strategic and statutory planning, including implementation of the Master Plan 2050, infrastructure contributions planning and delivery of design excellence outcomes.

Working across a complex and fast-paced environment, you will provide expert planning advice to internal and external stakeholders, manage development assessment processes and collaborate across government, industry and the community to deliver high-quality places that balance growth, liveability, heritage and environmental outcomes. You will also lead a small team and manage specialist consultants to support key planning priorities and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Extensive experience in strategic and statutory planning, including navigating complex planning, environmental and heritage matters within large-scale or high-profile precincts.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across government, industry and community stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership and project management capability, including leading teams, managing competing priorities and delivering quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different parts of the planning process, responding to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
