SAP Business One Functional Consultant

We are seeking a talented SAP Business One Functional Consultant to join our team in Tanzania. This individual will work in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector, responsible for analyzing, configuring, and supporting SAP Business One solutions to meet business needs. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders to understand requirements, optimize business processes, and implement SAP Business One functionalities effectively. As an SAP Business One Functional Consultant, you will ensure that the system is tailored to meet the specific operational demands of the FMCG industry, with a focus on streamlining processes such as procurement, inventory management, production, sales, and financials. Responsibilities Requirements Gathering: Work with business stakeholders in the FMCG sector to understand business processes, challenges, and requirements, especially in areas such as supply chain, procurement, inventory, and financial management. SAP Business One Configuration: Configure and customize SAP Business One to support business operations and optimize key processes like inventory management, production planning, purchasing, sales order processing, and financial reporting. System Implementation & Support: Lead the implementation of SAP Business One modules and provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and enhancements as needed. Testing & Training: Oversee the testing phase, ensuring that configurations meet business requirements, and provide training to end-users to ensure a smooth transition. Data Migration & Integration: Manage data migration from legacy systems to SAP Business One, ensuring accuracy and integrity, and integrate SAP Business One with other systems where needed. Business Process Optimization: Work to improve business processes continuously and ensure that SAP Business One is being used to its full potential. Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain detailed documentation on system configurations, processes, and user guides. Provide regular reports on system performance and areas for improvement. Project Coordination: Coordinate project timelines, track progress, and collaborate with technical teams to ensure successful delivery within scope and deadlines. Customization: Identify areas where SAP Business One needs customizations to align with business needs and work with technical teams to implement these changes. Requirements Knowledge and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications is a plus. SAP Business One Certification (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP Business One) is highly desirable. Relevant Work Experience: 3+ years of experience with SAP Business One, ideally within the FMCG sector or related industries. SAP Business One Expertise: Deep knowledge of SAP Business One, including configuration and implementation, particularly in the FMCG industry. Hands-on experience with modules such as Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Production, Finance, and Distribution is essential. FMCG Business Processes: Strong understanding of business processes in the FMCG sector, particularly related to inventory management, production, distribution, and financial operations. Technical Acumen: While primarily a functional role, the consultant should have a solid understanding of SAP Business One’s technical aspects and be able to work with IT teams for integration and customization. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with business stakeholders and technical teams. Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills to identify issues, troubleshoot, and propose SAP solutions. Project Management: Experience managing or coordinating SAP projects, including timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations. End-User Training: Ability to train and support end-users effectively, ensuring they can leverage SAP Business One to its full potential. Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing requirements and priorities in a fast-paced FMCG environment. FMCG Sector Experience: Prior experience working within or consulting for FMCG companies, particularly in areas like procurement, production, inventory, and distribution. Multinational Experience: Experience working with global or regional teams in an international business environment. Knowledge of Add-ons: Experience working with common SAP Business One add-ons or third-party integrations used in the FMCG sector. SAP HANA Knowledge: Familiarity with SAP HANA, especially for businesses looking to scale and integrate with modern data management tools. Language Skills: Proficiency in English is a must. Swahili language skills are an added advantage.
