Position Summary
Does developing strategies and products for every season sound exciting to you? We have a dynamic opportunity for a Seasonal Category Manager within our General Merchandising- Seasonal. The Seasonal Category Manager is responsible for the P&L by developing and executing end-to-end merchandising strategies.
This role owns category strategy, financial performance, and execution while partnering cross functionally to deliver compelling assortments, industry leading growth and strong value. As a business owner, the Seasonal Merchant leverages all available tactics from assortment, pricing, promotions, loyalty, store brands, suppliers and digital to achieve or exceed your business objectives. Additionally, your success will require the engagement and further development of your highly performing team.
In this role you will:
- Deliver sales and margin goals by attaining market share and thoughtfully managing all lines of the category P&L for Seasonal
- Shape the Seasonal category strategy by developing an informed strategic point of view and adeptly influencing key partners, including senior leaders while staying abreast of the customer and competitive trends
- Lead and manage vendor relationships, collaborating and negotiating extensively with manufacturers and vendors to ensure brand and product strategies drive sales and profitability, as well as creating assortments and experiences (both physical & digital) that drive trust & trips with our customers.
- Champion innovation by bringing ideas to market in an agile way, while balancing growth potential against financial risk
- Initiate and execute strategic promotional strategies and marketing plans by collaborating internally with CVS partners (e.g., Inventory, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Design and Store Operations) and supplier partners.
- Contribute to the development and execution of General Merchandise initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in Retail Category Management, Retail CPG, Private Equity, Investment Banking or Management Consulting
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives and drive category growth through innovative strategies.
- Proficiency in leveraging data-driven insights for assortment optimization, pricing strategies, and performance forecasting
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional team members, internally and with suppliers.
- Proven track record of influencing others with and without authority
- Skilled in negotiating and structuring win-win agreements with suppliers and partners to maximize profitability and strengthen relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, very strong interpersonal and presentation skills and strong executive presence
- Expertise leveraging MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities
- Experience managing and developing a high performing direct report
- Willingness to travel up to 20%

Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- MBA preferred
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00What We Offer
