JOB DESCRIPTION

REFRIGERATION/DIESEL TECHNITIAN

• →Aptitude in using various hand tools, power tools and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers)
• →Analyze and diagnose mechanical issues
• →Problem solve and create a plan of action for all repairs
• →Follow checklists and protocols while conducting repairs
• →Regularly clean and maintain tools, equipment and shop areas
• →Clean and perform housekeeping duties of mobile unit and working areas. Includes sweeping, cleaning, and trash removal
• →Document problem/complain/solution
• →Ensure a safe, organized, and tidy workspace
• →Support coworkers, able to work as part of a team and get along with co-workers
• →Follow all health and safety rules and guidelines, as well as common sense safety practices
• →Perform requested repairs according to industry standards

• →Perform routine maintenance on reefer units and related equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications
• →Perform routine maintenance on trucks/vehicles and related equipment
• →Perform repairs and diagnostics on starting and charging system, cooling, and re-charge, and electrical including common fault codes according to industry standards
• →Perform requested repairs including: leak detection procedures, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements and front & rear main engine seal replacements
• →Knowledge of all vehicles mechanical systems (e.g., transmission, exhaust, electrical)
• →Inspect trucks/vehicles and related equipment and identify faulty parts
• →Familiarity with common diagnostic equipment
• →Perform other duties as assigned or as needed by company

• 1-2 years of Transport Refrigeration Technical, or equivalent, experience
• Must be able to read and write in English in order to document diagnosis and solutions

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Vocational/ Trade-School certification preferred
• ASE certifications highly desired
• Able to pass pre-employment knowledge or skill testing designed to determine probability of success on the job and mechanic classification
• Able to pass background check
  • Owns and cultivates collection of required tools of the trade and steel toed work boots or shoes
• Attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills
• Proven mechanical acuity and basic math skills

• Able to pass drug test.

• Able to be pass medical physical exam.
• Able to work in uncomfortable conditions (heat, cold, small spaces)
• Able to work in physically demanding positions.
• Able to stand on one’s feet for prolonged periods.
• Lift, push or pull 50 pounds at a time.
• Able to scale ladders or other means of access to trailer roof or interior.
