DSU Food Bank Volunteer ~ Digital Outreach Representative

Role Description:

As a volunteer on our Digital Outreach Team, you will manage and grow the DSU Food Bank's social media presence, creating engaging content that showcases our activities, volunteers, and services while helping to connect students with the resources they need.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating and managing the DSU Food Bank social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram)
• Creating content showcasing activities, food bank volunteers, notices, and other relevant updates
• Bringing forward content ideas for event promotion on social media
• Availability to help film, and be filmed, for content creation
• At times, with the Food Bank Coordinator, helping to plan relevant and trending content ideas for holidays, and general student engagement
• Monitoring and responding to messages and comments on social media platforms in a timely and professional manner
• Tracking engagement and providing basic analytics reports to the Food Bank Coordinator
• When needed, volunteering as a reserve to assist with food operations

Time Commitment:
Flexible, however expected:

• Participation in the filming/creation of at least 4 pieces of content per month
• Regular check-ins with the Food Bank Coordinator
• 
  

Required Skills & Training:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable interacting with people on and off camera
• Comfortable with being on camera and highlighted on our social media platforms
• Experience with social media management (Facebook and Instagram)
• Familiarity with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Meta Business Suite) is an asset
• Reliability, honesty, and a friendly attitude

Mandatory Activities:

• Attendance at content planning meetings
• Being on camera for content filming when required
